A classic Don Knotts film of the highest degree. I love the surprise appearance of the actor that played Ottis the town drunk in Andy Griffin show playing a town drunk in the start of the film. Don Knotts plays a guy who wishes to be a real reporter more than anything. When he writers a story about the town murder house it will take all his strength to survive being the town laughing stalk and surviving the night of laughs alive.Movie Review: Halloween fun!

This movie is a classic! Spooky fun the whole family can enjoy. Humorous, quotable, and a great time for all. Don Knotts is the star of this movie as a bumbling, but well-meaning hopeful newspaper reporter investigating the local haunted mansion. Rumor has it that it's haunted by a ghost, of course. Great old movie! Perfect for all ages. We have 3 kiddos, 5, 12, & 16 and finding a movie that is appropriate for everyone can be tough. We ordered this movie for Halloween night as our 16 year old was having a group of friends over and they all really enjoyed the movie. This video brought back many memories from my younger days. It's an excellent Don Knotts movie and I rank it among his best. Over his many years of movie making, he changed his style only a little, but The Ghost & Mr. Chicken tipifies the original style of his early acting career. Don Knotts is probably one of the least appreciated comedic actors in America. That's too bad because he has entertained and made a couple of generations laugh at his timeless and pretty much wholesome humor. Ghost and Mr. Chicken was one of the best movies Don Knotts did. So glad it's out on DVD.
