Movie Reviews of The Ghost and Mr. ChickenMovie Review: The Ghost and Mr. Chicken Summary: 5 Stars
This is an old movie that my parents and I use to watch when I was a little girl. I lost my dad to cancer 12/07/07 and when I found this movie on DVD on 'Amazon' I was extatic! Watching this movie brings back warm, wonderful memories.
The quality of the movie was exceptional. I appreciate the prompt delivery of this movie and The Incredible Mr. Limpet. I now can pass on the enjoyment of a good, clean movie to my children and hopefully one day, my grandchildren. Thank you Amazon for putting the cares and concerns of the consumer above the almighty dollar.
Sincerely,
L. Creel
Movie Review: Brilliant Comedy Summary: 5 Stars
A true homage to the haunted house films we all grew up watching. Don is in rare form as the natural chicken to have to spend a night in the old Simpson house. Great supporting stars and a humorous running gag of someone yelling "Atta boy, Luther!" everytime Don's trying to explain himself. Also, vintage Knotts in the scene where he has to recite a speech at a picnic, and already nervous, loses his notes to the wind. Anyone who only knows Don's work from Three's Company or even Andy Griffith, this is a must-buy.The best of Don's films, apologies to all the Limpet fans out there.
Movie Review: Childhood Summary: 5 Stars
I remember seeing this movie as a child, and thinking how good it was and how eerie it was. I just had to buy this movie when I found that it was out on DVD.
It isn't the same as I remember it. It isn't that eerie, but it is a very good movie. Again, Don Knotts, plays the bumbling type of guy, who wants to impress this girl, so he goes into a haunted house to prove that he is man enough for her. Finding out at the end that he never needed to in the first place.
I watch this now as an adult and I still think this is a good movie, and would recommend it.
Movie Review: Don Knott's Classic Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of my all-time favorite Don Knott movies. The first time I saw this movie on television, I was about 15 years old. I thought this movie was one of the funniest ever made. The cast and scenery in the movie brings back memories of the good old days when all one had to do was be entertaining without the use of "every other word" profanity and full time bedroom escapades. Although, times have changed and movie viewing has entered into a full 360 degree technology change, I still think this classic comedy is just as entertaining and good as it was 25 years ago. I love it!
Movie Review: Good clean, shaky fun Summary: 5 Stars
Don Knotts is great at playing the shaky, neurotic human-chihuahua type. So what better to do than have him spend the night in a haunted house. Every Halloween (and occasionally during the year) I pull out this movie. When I first bought it, I was a little nervous that it may not have aged too well, but honestly I think I find it even funnier than I did when I was a kid. It's full of great lines, and the cast is perfect. It's nicely spooky around the edges, but no more so than the Munsters or the Addams Family. It's right up there with the best movies Knotts ever made.
