Movie Review: Old movies are the Best Moview

I just finished watching this movie...I had watch this many year's ago..maybe a couple of time's. It is still as good as it was then. The transfer is excellent..the sound altho in mono sound's like sterio.A very crisp clean copy on DVD. I will take exception with a reviewer her as it is stated that the remark Bob Hope made was racist...It is not. He say's that if it get's any darker in here, he will have to paint him (Willie Best) white to see him. Nothing racist about that remark at all. Only true. It is too bad we can't have movies like this any more. NO profanity..no nudity...just plain fun to watch. Buy this you will not be dissapointed.<>L<>Movie Review: Ghost Breakers

I can say no more than has already been said by the other reviewers on this page. However, I'm an old Bob Hope fan from way back, and I wanted to interest my family in purchasing this film. To my surprise, my family said they found it too slow moving. So used to fast-paced action films, they could not appreciate the "build up" to the climax, nor Hope's hopelessly funny and glib lines. But to my even greater amazement, when one night we were left all alone at home, my 10-year old pulled this beauty out of our collection and we both enjoyed it together! I borrowed this movie from the public library. It was my first encounter with Bob Hope. I never really expected him to be as funny as he was. This movie made me laugh so hard I fell out of bed. I thought this movie was hilarious. There were some scenes more funny then others but the movie has a lot of witty humor. The ghost effects in this movie are pretty good. I just thought the whole plot was pretty goofy and fun. Much of the humor is still relevant today. I plan to watch more Bob Hope movies now that I know what sort of comedian he is.

If you like a little comedy, if you like it a little spooky, if you like some good lines, if you like atmosphere, if you like Paulette, if you like a ghost and a zombie and a great film, get this one as it has it all. Bob Hope plays a guy who thinks he killed someone and goes on a boat to Cuba with Paulette Goddard whose character inherits a spooky castle, ghosts and treasure. Enjoy!!! This DVD is excellent and well worth the money. I already have the vhs version too but love this film so much I wanted to buy the DVD. ... This is a great film.Movie Review: One of Bob Hope's best

Lots of mystery, romance,and fun with a young Bob Hope
and lovely Paulette Goddard.
Bob Hope gets mixed up with the mob,then meets
Paulette Goddard (who has meanwhile inherited
a haunted castle in Cuba). Bob Hope escapes the cops
from the hotel in New York via Paulette's steamer trunk.
They see the sights in Cuba; and
decide to check out the castle themselves. They
run into zombies, murder, and assorted creepiness.
Also, the B/W print is beautiful on the DVD.
