Movie Reviews of The Fat SpyMovie Review: JAYNE!!!!! Summary: 4 Stars
This is for the DVD released by Passion Productions. There weren't any real quality problems and it is probably as good or better than any of the others. Full screen version seems to be the only available.
Movie Review: How low can you go ? Summary: 1 Stars
First of all,I have seen every film Miss Mansfield has appeared in (except ''It happened in Athens'' and ''The George Raft Story''.
''The Fat Spy'' is in my opinion her worst, and Lord knows that she played in several bombs.
The reason she appears ''fat'' as one reviewer noticed,is because she was pregnant, and if you watched very closely you will notice that the cameraman did his best to conceal her ''condition''.
Don't get me wrong,I am a big fan of psychotronic movies,high-camp,grade Z,''straight-to-the drive-in'' type of movies.
However this particular is soooooooo bad, that it is difficult to watch in one viewing.
It seems to want to be a ''Beach party'' type of movie, then some kind of musical, then comedy,to end up in a nightmare.
This movie with a really low quality soundtrack, should only be purchased by die-hard fans who are determined to own EVERY film Miss Jayne Mansfield appeared in.
The interesting cast is totally wasted, and I use this expression in the 2 senses of the word. And wouldn't you be if you were to be involved in such a turkey? I think you would
Trivia:Jayne was pregnant with Mariska in this film. She was also pregnant with Mickey Jr. during the filming of ''The Sheriff of Fractured Jaw''
Movie Review: Take Me to your Greenhouse Baby Summary: 1 Stars
This film is a bunch of disjointed skits. Thy try too hard to be campy; however with not enough lead and no finish each disjointed sketch just leaves you wanting. There are a few made-up ersatz songs and Jayne Mansfield's accoutrements; aside from those everything else is flat.
There are a few personalities but they never shine:
Phyllis Diller (fully clothed)
Brian Donlevy (storms the beach)
Jayne Mansfield (always points north)
The Wild Ones (People Sure Act Strange)
The introductory song was the best part of the film.
A final thought "Love is a rose, but you better not pick it"
Movie Review: Because I can't give it "0" stars Summary: 1 Stars
Here's a film where all the actors and actresses know they're funny, but somehow it doesn't traslate into a funny movie. This film is far more irritating than enjoyable. Frantic disjointed and sloppy, this cinematic bomb could fall into the worst movie of all time catagory. Too many shots of actors looking smug and hamming it up after saying their lines.
A pity, because all that talent is wasted.
My 11 year old son found this film to be tiresome after 20 minutes.
People who claim this movie is funny are probably not well.
Movie Review: "The Fat Nothing" Summary: 1 Stars
Horrible movie, only worth watching if you are a Jayne Mansfield or Phyllis Diller fan. Movie looks like it was cheaply filmed and only uses about 4 scenes in entire movie. However, if you like cartoons, than you might like this movie. The singer Laurie Berger is the funniest when she sings and dances her solo. Save your money for a fast food burger.
