Movie Review: Excellent thriller
Summary: 5 Stars
First of all, I suggest that you watch this DVD in French with English subtitle on as the english dubbing really distrupt the feels and the emotion of the movie. Jean Reno did his own dubbing but not the rest of the cast and it is annoying. It is about 2 detectives investigating 2 different crimes at 2 different places but apparently their cases are related as their investigations lead them together. It is nicely photographed and directed and frankly it is quite exciting although not the same level as the Silence of the lambs.The DVD is good. The picture is sharp except in dark indoor scenes, the picture looks grainy (probably intentionally) and the 5.1 sound (I watched the French 5.1) is super with many surround effects.
If you don't mind reading subtitle, this is a must own DVD for serial killing genre.

Bone chilling!
A Nasty little thriller about an exclusive University somewhere in the Alps. Reno defines "cool" as the very non-Clouseau Inspector, as does Cassel as the Young-eager-beaver sidekick. There's lots of action and mystery in this one - along the lines of a really good Agatha Christie, with a tiny touch of Hitchcock, but watch out for avalanches, very sharp objects, a rabid canine or two and wolly winter wear. [It somehow cries out for Black Edwards and the late Peter Sellers - irreverent thought, but would be fun too!]
Dominique Sanda provides a great cameo [somewhere in the dusky shades].
Brooding, atmospheric and deadly, quite a frozen little sorbet - no minty aftertaste though!

The Australian Disc is in dubbed English (very very smooth) highly well done at that with the real actors.You may wish to check the USA region for a english choice within
the menu options. Strange if there is not one.
Just a thought.
