I first viewed this movie on late-night, and I was hooked. Having grown up in the era of Richard Chamberlain and Dr. Kildare, we knew his acting ability was pretty darned good, and he was very easy on the eyes! R. C. took this character and made him bigger than life! The scene where he "exchanges" bodies still makes me say, "Hurry, hurry!" even though I know he succeeds. My favorite scene is where he makes his entrance as the Count, swooping his cape down the narrow hallway on his way to meet the banker. And, of course, he exacts his revenge with sweetness that turns bittersweet as we realize he may not get the love of his life after all. The character development is outstanding, and his exchange with the stroke-ridden grandfather, where he asks if it's better for the body to betray the mind of the mind to betray the body, is one of my favorites. I think even the high-school crowd would enjoy this interpretation!
