Movie Reviews of The CorporationMovie Review: One of The Most Important Films of Our Time Summary: 5 Stars
You owe to yourself, your family and children--and to society at large--watching this documentary film. The Corporation is a well edited, conceived, and ambitious (in a wonderful way) documentary; and its content is more than ever relevant to any XXI-century citizen.
We have just crossed the threshold of a new century, and factual concerns about the impact of industrialization and capitalism over the global social fabric and the environment, more than ever, grow increasingly patent and palpable, more founded, hence making urgent issues--once and for all--undeniably evident.
On the other hand, our dominant culture based on consumerism, uncontentious consumer behavior, isolationism, and sheer materialism and unconcern about the impact of individual and collective decisions over our sustainability has grown rooted, to the extend that almost every facet of our daily life has become dangerously assimilated into this detrimental way of thinking and behavior.
Set yourself free through knowledge and awareness about the true nature of our world: ignorance, materialism, tirany, have become--from immemorial time--commonplace for our society. Don't listen to commercial and government propaganda...LISTEN TO WHAT YOUR CONSCIENCE CLEARLY SAYS (and never doubt it).
Movie Review: An Instant Classic...... Summary: 5 Stars
"The Corporation" is one of the best documentaries I've seen in years! Are you aware that, by law, a corporation is classified as a person. Corporations also have an obligation to their shareholders to make money, end of story. The fact is, they don't care about you and they regularly commit crimes against humanity. It's all in the name of business so their hands are apparently washed. It's relatively simple to understand. For example, lets take a look at healthcare. All of those drug advertisements we see on TV and in magazines are ONLY trying to sell you product, not get you healthy! Educated people understand that drugs just cover-up symptoms and do not address underlying causes. That's a scientific medical fact! This concept applies to any industry, not just healthcare. Please don't misunderstand, I'm not saying that all corporations are evil entities. There are a select few that actually serve public good and their actions prove it. This documentary points out the not-so-obvious reasons why the corporation (if it was a real person) would be labeled a psychopath!

Movie Review: 4.5 stars. Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great documentary, I do not have much to say that others have not already. I will just quickly say, this documentary is a great introduction to anyone wondering why people dont like the business practices of large corporations.
Perhaps the most shocking story told in the film takes place in Bolivia, where an American corporation (Bechtel) Privatizes the water in a large city, then hiking up the price of water, while making it illegal for the population to collect rainwater (Bechtel claimed the water everywhere in the area belonged to them, including the water in the sky, so it was stealing to collect rainwater.
Many poor people did not have enough money to buy water and food and send their kid to school, or to a hospital in an emergency. All of this is easy to look up and verify. (google bechtel + bolivia for starters, or go to wikipedia.org).
The movie loses half a point because while all of the information I verified was accurate (and has great info all around) the movie does drag a little in parts. With that said, this is absolutely a must see movie on the subject.
Movie Review: The Corporation Summary: 5 Stars
In a 1927 interview, Benito Mussolini told a jounalst, "Facism should more properly be called 'Corporatism' because it is the total merging of corporate and state power". Welcome home folks, we're here! Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore. We're not even in America anymore. Certainly not the America of the Bill of Rights or the America of Abraham Lincoln when he spoke of "...government of the people, by the people, for the people..." This is the new reality of life in the United States. This oncoming facism has been creeping up on us at such a snail's pace for the past twenty five years that very few of us even noticed it. And now we have a hideous, half-witted frat boy in the White House - corporate America's errand boy - putting the final nails in the coffin of democracy.
The Corporation explains in as even-tempered a matter as possible (this is not Farenheit 9/11, much as I loved that film) what has happened to this country - really, the world - why it has happened and what we can and must do about it. Buy this film and show it to as many people as possible.

Movie Review: An absolutely WONDERFUL documentary Summary: 5 Stars
If you are still one of the blind sheep that still thinks that corporations are good for the world, maybe this movie will wake you up. Our water, our health, our future.....anything is for sale in this corporate world, and this movie brings some of the more appalling examples to the forefront.
Monsanto has always been one of the most corrupt, manipulative companies in the world. The section of this movie on rGBH is a fine example of why. I can only wish the subject of genetically altered foods and patented seeds had been addressed more thoroughly, as, outside of water, there is no more important product under the control of corporations. And once the food supply is contaminated by genetic revision, we can't go back.
I would also recommend that the viewer of this movie take the time to view the additional materials. The interview with Janeane Garofolo, the deleted scenes, and the additional interviews on disc 2 are every bit as interesting as the movie.
I cannot recommend this movie enough....especially for those that haven't been paying attention up to now.
