Movie Reviews of The Christmas WifeMovie Review: Great Christmas Movie Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great movie to watch during the Christmas season. I watch it every year at this time. I was glad to find it on the Amazon website in a DVD format. And the pricing was just right for a classic film. I would recommend this film.
Movie Review: Boring for the Under-20 crowd Summary: 4 Stars
Sweet, sentimental movie that intrigued my youngest three children and disappointed them at the end. They wanted the traditional happy ending. The mystery kept my husband and I curious and wondering, too. It is a well made film for people not jaded by video games and fast action flicks. It made me think quite a bit afterwards, about marriage, family, and loyalty.
Movie Review: It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Summary: 3 Stars
If I were able to actually rate all my Christmas movies, this one wouldn't make the top 10 but my wife and I would definitely watch it. Our Christmas season needs more than a top 10 so this one makes the cut. Yeah, the cinematography is flat, dull and dreary in places but cameras and broadcasts and VHS did have their limitations way back then. Time travel isn't always what I expected either. I appreciate all the other reviews because I get to do what I like best; speak my feelings. When it's all said and done that's about all we can hope for. If I tried to tell the plot, the rest of the reviewers have already spoken well. If you're an adult who still values the Christmas season and cherishes all those from childhood and have no intention of letting the kids have all the fun, then you'll enjoy a visit to the cabin where Jason Robards and Julie Christie spent Christmas. I can see how the younger set may not give this film many thumbs up but that's okay too. They may not like the ending but John Tanner took action in his life and, in the end, came back to exchange books with a lovely lady in a diner where the waitress knows his name. I'll bet next Christmas, Mr. Tanner and his new wife visit the kids and their kids and on another snowy Christmas they all go back to the cabin again, just for old time sake, really split the wood and haul it in where they spend some real time learning about fires that snap, crackle and pop. Anyway, if you're still serious about Christmas, add this if you have thirty or so and you still watch them.
Movie Review: Disappointing Summary: 2 Stars
I loved several Jason Robards movies, including The House Without a Christmas Tree, The Holiday Treasure, etc. However was quite disappointed in this movie. While the actors were good, I didn't care for the story line at all.
Movie Review: The Christmas Wife Summary: 1 Stars
The video was blank, I contacted the company that mailed it and nothing has been done. I would like a working video or my money back. Thank You P.S You have the website set so I had to rate the
product, I can't honestly rate something I haven't seen.
