Movie Reviews of The Christmas ShoesMovie Review: Please put it on 5 Stars
its a heartwarming thought-a son saving his money to buy his dying mom shoes to wear when she meets jesus in heaven. i have only heard the song, and i really want to see the movie. i saw the preview on the old site and it made me cry, and so did the music video. just let the chorus speak for itself:
sir i want to buy these shoes
for my mama please
its christmas eve and these shoes are just her size
could you hurry sir
daddy says theres not much time
you see, shes been sick for quite a while
and i know these would make her smile
and i want her to look beautiful if mama meets jesus tonight
this is a beautiful song and what ive heard a wonderful movie that i hope they put on DVD. this is the perfect movie for anyone (including myself) who loves a heart-warming, tear-jerking holiday movie that can be enjoyed all year long.
PLEASE PUT IT ON DVD!!!!!!!!!
Movie Review: A Wonderful Christmas Movie for all to see! Summary: 5 Stars
Wish i could give it a 10! I remember when i heard the song "Christmas Shoes" in 2001 i was on my lunch break as I pulled into a parking lot to eat and then the song from Newsong came on I cried my eyes out and said to myself "What a beautiful song". I have waited and waited for the movie to come out and thank god I found it this year I couldnt wait to get it and sit down with my family and watch it as our main Christmas Movie of 2006. This movie shows each and everyone of us the true meaning of Christmas and shows you that people in our lives are more important than ourselves and material things. Its a true family movie from the heart. Wonderful! Excellent actors! Yes, I would grab some tissue's for the movie as almost everyone in my family had tears falling down their faces. Excellent heart felt movie this is a must have for any Holiday Season! Merry Christmas!
Movie Review: Heart Warming, Even For The Toughest Among Us Summary: 5 Stars
This sentimental made-for-TV drama was based on the bestselling novel by Donna VanLiere, which in turn was inspired by the popular song of the same name. Rob Lowe stars as Robert Layton, a workaholic attorney who sorely neglects his family, even during the Christmas season. Clearly, Layton is overdue for a "humanizing" treatment, which comes in the form of a little boy named Nathan Andrews (Max Morrow). Learning that his mother, Maggie (Kimberly Williams), is dying from congenital heart failure, and unable to financially rely upon his underemployed father, Jack (Hugh Thompson), Nathan goes about collecting tin cans and other throwaways so that he can afford an expensive pair of red shoes for his ailing mom. Nathan's plight not only touches Layton, but also has a heartwarming trickle-down effect on the lawyer's estranged family. A Holiday must see
Movie Review: The Christmas Shoes Summary: 5 Stars
I enjoyed this movie more than many other happier Christmas movies. Sometimes we have to see what other families are going through in order to appreciate and even recognize what we have in our own lives. I especially like the shoes the young boy chose. Why? Because those are the very shoes that ANY child would choose for his/her Mom! Anybody with children knows that they do not choose the practical plain navy or black that will match everything in their closets or ours! They are the ones most likely to express their creativity without regard to what others think. I applaud the writers on choosing the most shiny, colorful and uplifting pair of shoes for their movie. What shoes could be better for a little boy who adores his Mom? What little boy or girl WOULDN'T choose those shoes?
Movie Review: Kimberly Williams is AMAZING!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
this is a great movie, even though its sad, i love it! i have seen kimberly williams in many things, and i have to say this is the best i have ever seen her. her transition from a happy mother to a sick, dying woman was great. the role required a roller coaster of emotions, and she did it extremely well. you see her happy, sad, in love, angry and each performance of emotions was as believable as the last! her performace is so believable and moving that i had to contain myslef to keep from sobbing. there arent enough good things i can say about her. she takes on a difficult role and makes it seem so real and moving. what a beautiful performance given by kimberly, and deserves so much praise for this dramatic role and brilliant performance. DO NOT MISS OUT!!
