Movie Reviews of The Cat From Outer SpaceMovie Review: A cute little move Summary: 5 Stars
When I was a little girl this movie was played every Thanksgiving on local TV. The movie really caught my eyes because the lead character was an orange cat from outer space. The movie is your usual Disney fair; no swearing, violence, or adult situations, and is suitable for all children and many adults. The cat, a lovely Absymian named Jake, crashes on earth and seeks the help of a scientist and his quirky friends. The army gets involved, but not expecting a cat, get very confused very quickly. If you have a cat lover in your family who likes fun, campy romps, this one is sure to please!
Movie Review: Really a great movie for kids Summary: 5 Stars
This Disney flick is not animated. It uses believable special effects for the 70s, back when I was a kid. Very funny and cute. I'm buying this on DVD because my daughter loved it when I borrowed it from the library on VHS.
The cat behaves and sounds like a 30 year old man. He's a space explorer like the crew from Star Trek. Ironically, he makes a man out of the spineless earthling he meets while trying to get home. This movie probably inspired E.T. and stars the actor who played Colonel Potter on M.A.S.H.
Movie Review: I love this movie! Summary: 5 Stars
I loved this movie as a kid. So, I watched it recently, out of a sense of nostalgia. I still love it! The fact that both colonels from M*A*S*H is choice! It has an all-star cast, and all the roles are strong. It's nice to see a movie that's good and clean. Why can't more recent movies do the same? This movie's great for people of all ages. It doesn't seem to juvenille nor antiquated. Being a cat lover myself is definitely a plus. Recommended for cat lovers and non-cat lovers alike!
Movie Review: Mad Cap Disney at it's Best Summary: 5 Stars
We love these old Disney videos and I, for one, am thrilled they are putting them back out on DVD.
This is a classic. Jake the cat is really from another planet. In his effort to connect with a human that can help him get the needed supplies to fix his spaceship all sorts of comedy and drama ensues. And with classic Disney shows a touch of romance happens between the two main human actors. Very sweet, very innocent, very naive and my children and I love this show.
Movie Review: Purrrfect, Fun Movie:) Summary: 5 Stars
This was another one of my top Disney faves.Good, clean fun and the special effects aren't bad at all for the 70's!:)
LOVE the choice of cat they used and it was extremely well-trained to do all those moves and interactions like that! I wish they added special features like The Making of,etc..but GLAD they released this on DVD for the next generations to enjoy!
