Movie Reviews of The CastleMovie Review: What all Aussie comedies should be like Summary: 5 Stars
I spend a lot of time in Australia and I was lucky enough to catch this pic last time. I couldn't stop laughing because I have met aussie's who remind me so much of this family. I reckon it was one of the best comedies I've ever seen. I bought it in Australia and showed my family it when I returned and they laughed tons even though they didn't understand all the australian humor. Still a great movie that anyone can enjoy. Oh and Bonnie Doon is really as boring as it looks. Cheers!
Movie Review: Old values Summary: 5 Stars
I have seen this movie several times in Austalia, it is a classic example of good old fashion values and a lesson to stand up to what you truely believe in. It gives you hope that the underdog really can win. The only and biggest disappointment I had was the fact that some of the script had been re-written to suit the american market and therefore alot of the aussie humour was lost. All in all though, a typical aussie classic.
Movie Review: It was GOOD!!!! (inside joke if you have seen the film!!) Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is a true example of a "feel-good" family film. Thanks to a tip from my best friend, RQA-Karen, who resides in Australia, I rented this wonderful film. It has the terrific combination of being both funny AND heart-warming. It shares a unique Australian comedic component, as well as an Australian/American family value component. Definitely worth the rent!
Movie Review: Fabulous Summary: 5 Stars
I am terrible about movies, I truly dislike any movie that's going for a cheap laugh or trying to induce emotion. This one, while truly funny, is told in such a way that no one but the audience seems to see how truly hilarious these people's lives are. Easily...this is one of the most charming films I've ever seen. I've never met anyone who saw it who didn't love it.
Movie Review: Best film of the year Summary: 5 Stars
Okay, it's hokey to say, but like "It's a Wonderful Life," this is one of the rare films I could see a hundred times because it reminds me there's a bit of humanity in the universe. The actors are engaging and wonderfully realistic...a "feel good" movie for intelligent cinema buffs. Some of the actors' lines have made it into our family jargon...
