I love learning how people lived in earlier times and this series about a crusader-turned-monk named Cadfael is a medieval detective series, well-researched and educational. You even learn a little herb-lore and early medicine.Movie Review: A most believeable story

I can not recommend this series enough! If you want to get a feel for the early part of Middle ages England with a twist this is worthy of your time. (A Monk who was a soldier who now dabbles in solving homocides- brillant!)
