Movie Reviews of The Broken Hearts Club

Movie Review: Loved it
Summary: 5 Stars

It is long past time when a gay movie can be made that is a nice, entertaining, and mostly fluffy 2 hour piece of fun. This movie does it. There are some serious subplots and segments and the overall story line is very nice but the interaction between the friends will keep you laughing. My personal favorite was their game "Who can act straight the longest" when the discuss the new Dodge trucks and places to pick up girls until one of them says "Amen Girlfriend" but then tries to defend himself by explaining "Yeah but I was so butch when I said it" Great date movie or something to just watch when you want a good laugh!

Movie Review: Being gay is a thing, but only one thing.
Summary: 5 Stars

This movie romantically proclaims that being gay is a thing, but only one thing. I have seen no other film that more delightfully challenges gay people to accept their sexuality and to move on without allowing homosexuality to be the defining quality of their lives. The Broken Hearts Club is fun, sad, and always poignant. It is not stereotypical. Rather, it reveals and utilizes stereotypes as a backdrop for the positive, but difficult, journey toward relationships that are defined neither by stereotypes, nor by one's sexuality. Among all movies, The Broken Hearts Club is a strong four star. Among gay genre films, it is a definite five.

Movie Review: Great Movie
Summary: 5 Stars

I absolutely loved this movie. All of the characters were portrayed in a believable manner, and they all seemed to have depth to them-except for Cole (the actor) who was shallow. I love movies about groups of friends because they show how vital it is to have a support group around you, and that is what this movie is really all about--this group of gay friends who love and support each other. This movie was really funny at times, even though it had its sadder moments. I also really liked the character of Dennis, he was the nicest (and cutest) one out of the whole bunch. This really is an awesome movie.

Movie Review: The Day I Met These Guys
Summary: 5 Stars

While this movie wasn't groundbreaking in the telling of a moment in-the-life-of a group of gay friends in southern California, it was nonetheless a charming, heartbreaking, and funny look into the lives of a group of tight knit friends.

Each character played his part perfectly and believably, without being too stereotypical...I can recall having a friend who was (for better or worse) like each of the characters.

It made me remember my own time in southern California, and made me long for a close group of friends today.

Definitely a good addition to your "lifestyle" library.

...meanwhile

Movie Review: Amazing
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm not into romantic comedies I only sit through one to rip it apart but this movie isn't like all the others. You also don't have to be flamboyantly gay to enjoy it either! I could definitely relate to all the characters because they showed the different stages in a relationship and I'm a straight woman. I thought it was so funny and it even made me cry which means a lot for someone who loves action movies. I loved the whole movie, it wasn't too long, it wasn't pointless and it had a great ending. I started watching it on cable tv then had to rent it and now I'm buying it.
