Movie Reviews of The Bride of Frankenstein (Universal Studios Classic Monster Collection)

Movie Review: The monster demands a mate!
Summary: 5 Stars

OH MY GOD! This is the be all and end all of all horror films . It dosent get ANY better than this folks. The beautiful bride comes out in full force at the end of this epic tale to wipe the slate clean of all cheap imitations. With its rembrandt lighting and its awesome soundtrack this is the ultimate goth experience. Frankensteins meeting with doctor pretorious is well played out with all its queer undertones. The monsters meeting with the blind monk is a classic(notice the weird glowing cross efffect when he falls asleep!). And Elsa Lanchester is hauntingly beautiful. See this movie!!! Five stars dont do it justice.

Movie Review: Not enough said...
Summary: 5 Stars

Everyone already knows that this is a very cool classic. Not enough was said about Ernst Theisiger's performance as Dr. Pretorius, and the wonderful special effects regarding his experiments. I recommend the film "Gods and Monsters", which is about the very gay director James Whale, and his 30's interpretation of misunderstood persons...the blind man, the monster, the scientist...all looking for love and/or friendship. Karloff truly has a handle on the interpretation. Elsa Lancester looked beautiful, and the great character actress Una O'Conner was over the top. What's not to love?

Movie Review: A gem of a movie
Summary: 5 Stars

Despite all the crappy reviews on this page about this dvd. Let me just say that this dvd is worth every penny. The picture quality is really good and has good special features. Pay no attention to the other morons who have trashed this dvd left and right. Cause they expect too much. And when you expect too much you will be very disappointed. They don't know anything. We should all be thankful that it's available on dvd. If you are thinking about buying this go ahead and do it. It is a gem of a movie and deserves to be on dvd. So go ahead and buy it. Believe me you won't be sorry.

Movie Review: Greatest Horror Movie
Summary: 5 Stars

James Whale will be remembered for centuries because of this fiendishly brilliant piece of Halloweenery. Mixing archtypal emotion with razor wit results in a story far beyond camp and pathos. This film is so brimming with invention that it hardly leaves the viewer time to catch a breath before the next startling scene commences. It's hard to believe there's any horror fan out there that doesn't know this flick by heart, but if you haven't seen it for a while, you owe it to yourself to treat yourself again.

Movie Review: A horror classic!
Summary: 5 Stars

No, Bride of Frankenstein did NOT win the academy award for best picture, though it was nominated for best sound...However, it is one of the greatest Universal horror classics of alltime...and surely the best of the 3 original Frankenstein series...It's more fun than the original Frankenstein...the movie itself is a timeless reminder of when Hollywood WAS great...Look at the sets, the costumes, the period pieces...they can't make em as good as they once did...this movie is proof...a 5 star classic!
