Movie Review: Elegant magical timeless moving story!

This is as good as it gets!! My favorite Christmas movie! A classic. So elegant and fluid a storyline that you yearn for a dozen more like it! But there is nothing like it. Filled with the wonder of childhood, of faith restored, of a relationship healed. Of the Divine entering into human lives and changing them for the better. Beautiful. It will move you to tears and have you filled with quiet joy. This movie is in my humble opinion, the best Christmas movie ever made. It has humor, lots of it, and sensitivity to the true meaning of Christmas. Cary Grant, Loretta Young, and David Niven are incredible in their roles. This is not only my favorite Christmas movie, it is one of my all time favorite movies in any genre. I cannot recommend this movie enough. Heartwarming, funny, caring, wonderful acting, it has it all. This is my favorite movie of all time. It has a wonderful cast, every one of them is so well suited for their role. It's even entertaining to watch them eat celery! The Angel choir throughout gives such a hopeful feel and reminds us who we're dealing with. I love the special effects as well. Without computers I am sure the film makers had to be very clever to make them work and they were done beautifully. I watch this every Christmas by the light of my Christmas tree. This should be required viewing at Christmas time. This is a simple story of setting priorities and remembering what Christmas is really all about.
The casting is perfection. This is Cary Grant at his best. Loretta Young, David Niven and Monte Wolley round out the fine cast.
There are many fine scenes including the snowball scene, skating scene and the christmas tree decorating scene. But the most important scene is the final sermon. That tells us all what Christmas should be about.

One of the best Holiday Movies made in the 20th century. This is a sleeper of a movie made in 1947 with an all-star cast. Every actor gives a great performance. This is one of those movies that gives you hope for mankind and angels alike. Pay close attention to the scene (later in the movie) where the angel (Cary Grant) tells the story about the gold coin. Christmas in our household is not complete without viewing this movie.
