Movie Reviews of The Big Chill (15th Anniversary Collector's Edition)

Movie Review: Still One of the Best Buddy Movies of all Time
Summary: 5 Stars

A great, charming film about adults who knew each other in previous lifetimes, "The Big Chill" is a tour-de-force, with tremendous performances from each of its top-notch cast members. Kevin Kline, Glenn Close, Tom Berenger, JoBeth Williams, William Hurt, Jeff Goldblum, an impossibly young Meg Tilly, Mary Kay Place - they are all fantastic. The music percolates along, so much so that the film inspired two chart topping soundtracks, and gave rise to the renewed popularity of the classic track "Ain't too Proud to Beg." Plenty of pathos, laughter and even emotional whimsy make this a classic for the ages.

Movie Review: The Big Chill
Summary: 5 Stars

I think it is a great movie with a great cast of great actors. So those of you out there who did not like it maybe it is over your head. I think it is very on the money for that generation, the only thing that is too Hollywood is the scene where the wife sets her friend up with her husband to get pregnant. That is just a little to much, in my mind I will always wonder if her husband liked it more then he is letting on, like the comment: (you don't have to be so happy). I just love the movie, I just wish we knew more about Alex then was let on.

Movie Review: Baby Boomers Never Grow Up
Summary: 5 Stars

The children of the 1960's stayed children and trapped in a yearning for the idealism of youth. Just like that 80's TV seroes "30-something" it really makes you be glad that your youth wasn't wasted after all. Watching this film as a now 30-something makes me convinced: how the mighty have fallen when their youth was blessed with too much of a good time too soon. While those who had it rough in their barely 20's, reaped the rewards of a character fortified.

Movie Review: A Classic
Summary: 5 Stars

If you are thinking about buying this film, I urge you to do so. This is one of the best ensemble cast films out there. A group of eight college friends reunite 20 years later for the funeral of one of their inner-circle who has committed suicide. It is engaging to watch the interaction between the characters. This is well written and the soundtrack is to die for. This film is worthy of being watched over and over again.

Movie Review: where is the flashback scene???
Summary: 5 Stars

I've loved this film since day one, and still do...just recently bought the DVD. One thing that bugs me incredibly, though, is that the big flashback scene alluded to by Director Lawrence Kasdan, is not included! Does no one know that that is the very scene everyone wants to see? Is it being kept for another dvd release later? Was Costner's price too high? What is the deal???
