Movie Review: The Ben Stiller Show On DVD!

Best known today as the "before they were stars" show for series headliner Ben Stiller and co-stars Janeane Garofalo, Andy Dick and Bob Odenkirk, The Ben Stiller Show comes to DVD for the first time in a grand special 2-disc (single-sided) set. The Ben Stiller Show DVD not only features all 13 episodes (including one originally unaired) of the Emmy Award winning TV show plus a host of great extras (including informative commentaries), but also deceptively simple yet effective packaging: a slim two-disc digipak with complete scene selections of both discs conveniently printed on the panels. Each disc (which feature the show's logo, and play flawlessly) include chapter breaks, making it a breeze to jump right to your favorite segments. As originally aired on Fox, the shows are presented in original Full Frame (1:33.1) video (retaining its purposeful grain and dirt look, predating The Larry Sanders Show) and English Dolby Digital Surround Stereo audio. Devoted fans will be pleased with this release from Warner Home Video. Ben Stiller was to this show what Garry Shandling was to The Larry Sanders Show, not only guiding the series with a creatively focused hand producing, writing, directing and performing but also having a keen eye for a talented cast and crew. Several of which ironically would later work on The Larry Sanders Show. Stiller himself even hilariously guest-starred on the HBO series.
