Movie Review: Guilty pleasure at its best

As I was scanning thru Amazon.com and randomly typing in movie titles that I was hoping would pop up with a near future release date, I started giggling like a girl when I saw that Beastmaster was finally being released on DVD. I grew up watching this movie on HBO, and up until now TBS in a very crude edited form. This was a purchase I made with no second thought. First off the movie looks and sounds great. Included are tons of extras that are worth the inexpensive price alone. This is a must buy for fans of this movie and genre. Money well spent. This film is slow. Give it a chance to get going and you will enjoy it. Billy Jacoby as the young Beast Master is almost missed. Watch for him near the beginning. The movie is slow and filled with battles and romance. The battles with the adult Beast Master are entertaining if somewhat unbelievable. I like Tal the boy prince. He should have had a more powerful voice and been more forceful but at the end of the movie when he almost dies he does come through. I think he could have handled the part better. I thoroughly enjoyed the animals and would have liked more info given about them.
The movie is pure entertainment with wonderful color [except coloring the tiger black] weird!
They can leave off the technical jargon - I want to hear about the animals and how some of the scenes were shot - how the actors played their parts etc.
What rigors did the actors have to go through? The set making was interesting and oh, yeah, didn't they know anything about horses?
Definitely a fun movie -
Movie Review: 80's masterpiece.

Oh boy, the nastalgia runs thick in this one...This movie was easily one of my favorite movies as a kid and its still very enjoyable and watchable today.
What little kid didnt want a huge sword, a man eating panther, two cute little ferrets, an eagle that you can see through, and a hot red headed girlfriend?
If you didnt grow up in the 80's then you probably wont care for this movie. But if youre like me, and did, then this is a must buy from our childhood.

I couldn't believe how fast it got to me.
It was in factory condition and it was the one I was looking for but I was really surprized to see that the sound was in THX.
My old version was on VHS tape and it really went bad through the years so I gave up on getting it.
The place that sold me this is called the Book Groove, I never heard of them before but they provided great service.
