Movie Review: The best of the beast
Summary: 5 Stars
A rare war theme-the Russians in Afghanistan. I've seen this movie more than 20 times and never tire of it. I even know the lines the dialogue word for word. And stop moaning about the young Russian rat pack acting like American beach boys ofcourse they would the Russian way they are also cocky and immature. Pretend that the conversations are in Russian which actually is not necessary even without words just the excellent score of MArk Isham this is a sure winner.Movie Review: excellent movie

this movie is one of high reealism and of the few ones set in Afghanistan. It will please people looking for a good action movie but also people looking at a movie giving a look into the Afghan War and also into men's deep violence and hatred and reasons for fighting... and eventually forgiving and leaving in peace. With the now historical quagmire that the USSR found itself in back in 1980 invasion of Afghanistan, this film really sets the tone of what was their VietNam.
Interesting characters and the clear vision of the hell that war is all about. No mercy for the enemy, but humanity does briefly peak above that surface.
Worth the money.

As others have said the movie is excellent I cannot add to their comments. Looking back on the war and the events of 9/11 I can't help but wish that the Russians never left Afganistan. The movie is surprisingly topical again as we may have Abrams running in the tracks of T-62s soon enough.Movie Review: Awesome Movie

This is a classic war movie, it depicts a russian tank crew lost in Afghanistan, during the occupation of that country by the russians.
Graphic violance, and some disturbing scene's are throughout this movie.
Great movie, everyone should watch it.
