Movie Review: DANNY BOYLE, OPUS 4

***** 2000. This movie was based on Alex Garland's The Beach and directed by Danny Boyle. A young man discovers a strange community living in an heavenly island in Thailand. I don't understand why this astounding film wasn't more successful. I suppose no one wants to see too clearly through its mirror for fear of recognizing oneself. If you really want to see how the pursuit of happiness can lead to selfishness and murder, watch THE BEACH. Now.Movie Review: Majestic Fantasy

Okay, for all you people who said the book was better. That's just pure crap. The book wasn't only more thourough, it was more realistic and complete. Alex Garland (author) is pure genius. The movie had Leonardo Dicaprio, therefore he HAD to get down with Virginie Ledoyen (Francoise) and make things hot because that's just the way hollywood likes to do things. Pure crap. I do, however, give this movie 5 stars. I admit, I'm obsessed with it (hence my high rating). The whole idea is excellent. A possible cult movie through my eyes.Movie Review: Still my favorite film!

Great movie, although like everyone else says, the book is better by all counts. I have always discovered this, like with the Christine novel by Stephen King.
I also gotta ask this, but does anybody happen to know where I can find the necklace the Leonardo chracter wore in this movie? Or what designer makes it or if they still do? I'm sure it's not _just_ a prop that was made just for the film (at least I hope not, lol). Anyway feel free to email me with any info.

This movie is one of the best films that I've gotten yet, of course we all know Leonardo DiCaprio acted in Titanic (1997) but this movie is actually better than Titanic put it that way but I still love both movies!!!! I saw this movie on Satelitte before and that's what made me want to really B-U-Y this movie. I HIGHLY reccomend that you B-U-Y this movie today, if not today then whenever you can!! It's the best! I purchased this movie as a gift for my daughter who absolutely loved the movie and really wanted a copy for her home collection. I searched the internet literally for hours and although I could find every other movie DiCaprio had been in, I was unable to find this one. Then I found a link to Amazon and there it was. The price was excellent and I received the movie very quickly. From now on I will look in Amazon first. I am a very pleased customer.
