Movie Review: An exotic adventure! A brilliant film!
Summary: 5 Stars
I have no idea what everyone is talking about! I loved this movie! It was strange and exotic! It isn't like every other movie that is out there right now. I think that's why people are so threatened by this film! Although I can't remember a whole lot about this movie, it has been a while since it was in theatres, but it is a very powerful film. If you have ever read the book "Lord of the Flies" you know what I mean. This movie is very similar to that book. You become very in tune with the characters on the screen and start to feel like you are on the beach too! So you don't want to leave any more than they do. The sweet bunch of people inhabiting this island begin to change in to blood thirsty animals fighting to remain living on their not so secret island. It also had a lot of unexpected comedy. All in all I HAVE to give this movie 5 stars! It was brilliant!Movie Review: Wish I Was There

This has got to be the best film that Leonardo has ever done. I didnt really rate his performance in Titanic as i thought that there was too much hype but he is excellent in this film. The film is about a guy called Richard who is just lazying around travelling drifting from town to town when he stumbles upon a chap (played by Robert Carlile) who talks of agreat isle where all who live upon it live in perfect harmony. Richard doesnt believe this until the following morning when the man has killed himself and left behind a map. With the help of the couple who had the next hotel room next to his they set off to find the perfect island. Once upon the isle all is not what it seems and perfect harmoney isnt perfect for much longer. The film is going to be much better than i have managed to explain so just go out and rent or buy it and you wont be disappointedMovie Review: out of the illusion of american luxury and into the world

I thought that this movie was a painting of alot of peoples feelings. i dont mean from the movie i mean people in real life. we all crave the ultimate adventure, searching for excitement and detatchment from every day situations. the movie takes us to a place where utopia is reality, however temporarily. I live on an island. not a perfect beach paradise but to some thats wahat it is. The beach is a journey into the mind of the drifting traveler in search of the cure for his restlessness. But when he thinks he finds it, he realizes hes stumbled upon not a cure but an even harsher version of the cancer. i read the book after watching the movie and where i did prefer the book, the movie was an impressive adaptation. Although i believe i speak for many when i say that Jed should have been in the movie. A great inspirational epic.Movie Review: Too easy to disregard

It is so easy to dog this film because it has Leonardo in it and after the Titanic spawned Leo Mania, it seems that most people will write off any project that involves him as simple bubble gum. Thats sad because this is a really good film. Anyone that has done the travel thing and lost themselves trying to find something that they can call their own can feel the message of the film. Most of the criticism is aimed at the plot or lack there of. Nonsense, this has far more plot than most of the dribble we are fed. I think that the plot is rather sublte in that it explores who we are when we are far from home and how we interact with others while trying to figure out our own role. The visual aspects of the film cant be knocked as they are truly stunning, Breath taking, and mind blowing. The soundtrack is pretty cool as well.Movie Review: An All-Time Masterpiece

Hey! Didn't get it you rednecks? I don't know why the majority of the 1/2 stars reviews of this movie are coming from texas, utah and whatever never never land, and why there's so many people reviewing a movie they hated! With all those ridiculous reviews, "the beach" is still scoring a 3.5 rating, which is rather good, due the propose of the script...
If you didn't like this movie, just write "Ok, I like to swallow popcorns and a gallon of coke and watch big boobs and shootings, and i left the cinema confused and pissed off because this one made me think". that would be enough thank you!
As leonardo di caprio is concerned, he delivers a superb role, and he already deserves an oscar.
This review isn't about the book, it's about the movie, and the movie sure does his job! and so, so beyond...UTOPIA?
