Movie Review: Ground Control To Captain Jack...
Summary: 5 Stars
Johnny Depp (SLEEPY HOLLOW, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, THE NINTH GATE, SECRET WINDOW, SWEENEY TODD) plays an astronaut who returns from a mission as a "changed" man. Charlize Theron (MONSTER, THE ROAD) plays the title wife, slowly realizing that the man she married just might not be the one who returned from space. If you are a fan of paranoia thrillers like THE STEPFORD WIVES, INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, etc., then THE ASTRONAUT'S WIFE fits right in. Is it "slow-moving"? Yes, but this actually builds suspense and thickens the mystery. Is there a lack of explosions and / or sci-fi conventions? Yes, no ray-guns or space battles here. It's not a true horror film either. TAW is more of a flesh-crawler than a jumpy, fright-fest. I loved every minute of it...Movie Review: Enjoyed, Watched, and had fun

As a piece, the cover mainly sold me because of Theron. Just watching the film, I watched it on its own merits, and it was a neat ride. If you take on too much baggage when viewing any movie, or reading some books for that matter, you lose the fun.
It might very well be a Candy floss sort of movie, but I enjoyed it. People enjoy all sorts of simple things, not filling, not nutritious, but they still enjoyed it. Hell, why analyse it if you enjoy it ?
I had fun. Nice and fluffy, vacuous and entertaining.
Grab the popcorn, park the brain, and have a nice time ... at this price, its worth the while.

I have seen bad reviews for this movie but personally, I think it is great! I am a huge Johnny Depp fan and he is a truly magnificant actor. Every time I watch one of his movies, I am left in aw at his wonderous talent...and he did it again. I was literally on the edge of my seat for this one. It is suspensful, sexy, scary, and all around a great movie. Charlize Theron couldn't have done a better job! This is the type of movie you can watch again...even though you know the outcome, it doesn't get old. I HIGHLY recommend it.Movie Review: Get ready for a really creepy show.

In this drama, a loving astronaut's wife wishes him well as he embarks on yet another space shuttle mission. There are problems however, when the two astronauts on board leave the ship to fix a problem. For two minutes, NASA cannot reach them. Those two minutes turn out to be the evil of all evils. When Johnny Depp, who plays one of the astronauts, comes home to his wife, he acts like nothing has happened, yet something very sinister has just come to earth, and start popping the popcorn, you don't want to miss this one.Movie Review: People are missing the political message...

The technological advances of the space race were supposed to improve life on earth. And they have. But these advances have also been used to create the means of conquering people. Smart bombs? Our exploration of space made us proud to be Americans, but I am not proud that technology has been abused to shock and awe the world. We are now feared, but we used to be loved and admired. By the way, I agree that Johnny Depp's good ole boy is right on. He's from Kentucky. Outstanding acting by all.
