Movie Reviews of The Andromeda StrainMovie Review: Project Wildfire.....!!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Okay this was pretty good for something from author Micheal Chrichton. The story does have a lot of suspense to it. A town is wiped out by a unknown virus. The Army brings in a team of four scientists to a top secret location, to tried and figure out what caused the virus and find a cure fast. Before it can infect anyone else or before the government makes a mistake. By ordering an airstrike to wipe out the town and the secret location. But the only clues, the scientists have to solve this mystery are a strange container from a space satellite, an old man and a baby.
Movie Review: Suspenseful movie, still sends chills up my spine. Summary: 5 Stars
Even though this movie is 2 decades old, it still sends chills up my spine. The thought of an extraterrestrial organism which comes to Earth and could very nearly be that which destroys the human race. The film stays very true to the novel (which many movies don't do), and even though the technology is dated, it is very believeable that something like Wildfire could even be out there today. If you liked Outbreak, you'll love watching this one. The best thing is to read the novel, then watch the film.
Movie Review: SCIENCE FICTION CLASSIC Summary: 5 Stars
THIS IS A GREAT ADAPTATION OF THE MICHAEL CRIGHTON CLASSIC SCIENCE FICTION NOVEL...THE MOVIE IS CERTAINLY DATED BECAUSE OF THE OLD TIMEY SPECIAL EFFECTS, BUT IT FAITHFULLY FOLLOWS THE BOOK...I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE I BOUGHT THE MINI-SERIES AND WANTED TO VIEW BOTH TO COMPARE HOW THEY HAVE HELD UP TO CHANGES IN TECHNOLOGY...SO...IF YOU'RE A FAN OF SCIENCE-FICTION GET BOTH AND COMPARE/CONTRAST THE OLD WITH THE NEW...I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE WHO BUYS THIS MOVIE READ THE BOOK AND SEE FOR YOURSELF
Movie Review: An all-time SF classic Summary: 5 Stars
Robert Wise's 1971, "The Andromeda Strain" only gets better over the years. It's matter of fact art direction and cinemaphotography serve the film wonderfully and prevent it from becoming overly dated. The acting is first class and the screenplay adaptation first rate. This is the very definition of 'taut thriller'. I must have seen this film 30 times over many years and I am always impressed by what is one of the best SF films ever made.
Movie Review: Excellent Entertainment in glorious widescreen. Summary: 5 Stars
Where to start? The film has never looked better. Crystal clear in widescreen it looks as if it were filmed last month. A good cast in Arthur Hill, David Wayne, Kate Reid and escpecially James Olson. Many fine supporting players including Ramon Bieri and John Carter to name but a few. The extras are fascinating - I won't reveal too much suffice to say that the work accomplished on this piece is amazing! BUY IT!
