Movie Reviews of That Touch of Mink

Movie Review: They all know!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Philip Shayne (Cary Grant) rich industrial owner, accidentally splashes Cathy Timberlake (Doris Day) out of work computer operator, as his car drives by. He sends his assistant Roger (Gig Young) to apologies. This becomes the beginning of a comedy of misunderstanding, misidentification, and a strange relationship between Philip and Cathy.

Although Doris Day and Carry Grant insure that this is a fun comedy, it is the bevy of other well-known actors that take this to new heights. Audrey Meadows plays the protective big sister type who hears about Mr. Shayne's exploits over the phone. Gig young is Mr. Shayne's go-for and finds out first hand what people and dogs think of him. Don Knotts is a shoe salesman as he is in another Doris day movie [Move Over Darling (1963)]. You defiantly do not want to miss the scene with Everett Beasley's (John Astin) date with Cathy.

My favorite scene is where she falls out the hotel window and is picked up. She says, " I Fell out of mister Shayne's apartment. See that I'm returned"

Movie Review: That Touch of Mink
Summary: 5 Stars

Doris Day and Cary Grant shine in this exceptional classic. He plays a millionaire, and she an innocent out of work mess. When the car Cary is riding in splashes her clothes, they meet and a comedy of errors follows. The locations like Bermuda were wonderful choices for Day's fall from grace.

No one can compare to a Doris and Cary pairing, but Gig Young and Audrey Meadows compliment them well. Gig Young steals scenes on many occasions. It was also very nice to see some the Yankee players that are part of history.

Movie Review: A True Romantic Classic
Summary: 5 Stars

If you love the those Romantic Classic movies then "That Touch of Mink" is for you. The movie stars Cary Grant and Doris Day, where a Rich man of the world meets a true small time girl. But the road to happiness has a few problems along the way. This movie also stars Don Knots, Audrey Meadows,John Astin, and The New York Yankees. It a great movie for any fan of either Grant's or Day's.

Movie Review: Hilarious
Summary: 5 Stars

It's love at first sight when Doris Day meets Cary Grant. He's a tycoon willing to offer her a trip around the world and everything money can buy--except an engagement ring. Will she compromise her principles to follow this dashing tycoon? The answer is a laugh-out-loud journey that makes you wonder why today's movie stars seem so small compared to Cary Grant.

Movie Review: An old favorite
Summary: 5 Stars

I have this movie recorded off the television (when I was in 8th or 9th grade. I'm 25 now) on an old vhs tape, and it's one of my favorite movies. In fact, I've never not liked a Doris Day movie that I've seen (I haven't watched them all). Eventually I'd like to buy this movie (and most likely some of her other movies) on DVD. I highly recommend.
