Movie Reviews of Tess of the d'UrbervillesMovie Review: The Greatest Movie We Have Ever 5 Stars
My family and I Love this movie so much. We have watched it countless times since it first aired on A&E last Sept. We bought two movie videos of it, because we were afraid we might wear it out. Everything about this production is Wonderful. We wish it would even be released on DVD, then we would even by another copy of this Great movie. The musical score for this movie is so Beautiful and Moving. We wish that the soundtrack would be released on CD. We could just go on and on about this Unforgettable movie!!!!!!!!
Movie Review: True to the novel Summary: 5 Stars
This adaptation of the novel really brings the both the story and FEELING of the book to the screen. Excellent casting and acting - again, all to present the characters as in the novel. In particular, Justine Waddells' portrayal of Tess is much more "three dimensional" than Kinski's good performance in the Polanski film version. I bought this DVD without ever seeing the program on A and E - I was not disappointed. For those who enjoyed the book, both this and the earlier Polanski version are well worth seeing.
Movie Review: A visual masterpiece Summary: 5 Stars
Regardless of the fact that as this film progresses it diverges more from Hardy's basic plot in the novel, it still maintains itself as a masterpiece, with brilliant performances from Tess, Angel and Alec. Jason Flemyng (Alec) plays a role somewhat different to his reknowned Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Justine Waddell certainly adds an edge to the complex Tess and Oliver Milburn portrays Angel's sincereness perfectly. The music adds to every mood the film enters into with a trully emotional score.
Movie Review: This is one good movie Summary: 5 Stars
This version is much better than the polanski one that one was boring this Tess has much better acting and is much more interesting. Movie Review: Tess of the D'Urbivilles Summary: 5 Stars
Although used, this DVD was in excellent condition. It arrived in a timely manner and the move stayed very close to the Thomas Hardy novel. Most enjoyable. I could watch it again and again
