Movie Reviews of Teletubbies - Baby AnimalsMovie Review: My granddaughter loves it. Summary: 5 Stars
My grand daughter asks for "Po" all the time. This is an especially nice one. The animal segments are cute.
Movie Review: Teletubbies...love them or hate them... Summary: 4 Stars
I am not an advocate of television for children...and I was one of those moms who said "I will NEVER let my son watch Barney or the Teletubbies!" Although Jaden has yet to see Barney, he has seen the Teletubbies. One day my mom let him watch it and he sat there mystified...I don't know what it was, the freaks running around or the sun that has a babies face. All I know is that he laughs and verbalizes whenever the baby sun is on and he seems to like the other "things" in the show. Jaden is also fond of animals, which is why I bought this...He likes it. I think that it is odd, come on the first animal they introduce is a sheep on wheels, with the teletubbies saying "whhhhaaattt ttthhhaatt??" HELP ME! However, Jaden digs it, and I have seemed to have lost my ability to jump into the mind of a child, so for the time being it's on our playlist. I would have gave it 5 stars, but it's televison and I am not a fan of that so I had to give it 4 stars.
Movie Review: A good DVD for the price Summary: 4 Stars
Teletubbies don't do much for me but I have 2 year old twin boys who like them and they really like this DVD. It doesn't hurt that both are into animals right now but there just seems to be a lot of content on this disc for the money. My only gripe is that they could have broken it into smaller chapters to make it easier to jump to favorite scenes, but that's a very minor irritant. The digital picture is great and the ability to use some of the DVD players features (like looping through a favorite segment) is very handy too. If you have a DVD player spend the extra few dollars and get the DVD version instead of the VHS. I think there's enough extra content to justify the relativelt small difference in price.
Movie Review: Daughters favorit Summary: 4 Stars
Following the recommendations of others on Amazon.com, I bought this movie for my 7 month old daughter. She was instantly happy looking it. It was the first time we could see her sitting quiet for longer then 5 minutes. In fact she watched often a half hour, faszinated. Now she is 9 months and likes to dance with the Teletubbies. We do not agree with too much TV for children. But a kid who normally is very activ can learn to sit down a while and concentrate to one thing. And we parents have sometimes all hands full with work and its fine to have some minutes free of kids. And DVD is better than TV, because there are no commercials or violent cartoons coming over your kids.
Movie Review: Too Loooooong for Mommy Summary: 3 Stars
I can't deny that my 2-year-old daughter loved this DVD at first, although her interest in the Tubbies is thankfully waning. That aside, my biggest gripe is that the video is 70+ minutes long with no interruptions. Most children's tapes/DVDs are divided into segments - i.e. the Bear in the Big Blue House DVDs contain three episodes. That way, it can be turned off after 25 minutes if necessary (b/c you have somewhere to go, your kid is overloaded on tv, or Mom's mental health is suffering). When we put the Tubbies in, we're either in it for the long haul or must endure a breakdown of some sort. Otherwise, I have to agree. The little guys are mesmerizing to kids, for whatever reason.
