Movie Reviews of TeethMovie Review: Open Wide Summary: 5 Stars
OK, now the idea of dentata for me (a male) was of curiosity. Of course, like the cat that followed curiosity, I believe this movie provoked fear. I loved this film. I found the morbid curiosity that brought me to view the film, also pulled from me the feelings of the unknown toward women. I thought the piece was empowering for women, and the lead actor Jess Weixler is someone to watch for upcoming films. I wonder how someone could put this film in his or her resume, but I?m not an actor, just an author. If the idea of (Can't say here) dentata frightens you, don't watch this film. I though the violence was subtle in much the way things was implied without being shown. All the same, I still cringed with every sound effect. Also, I think I laughed the hardest when she finally seeks professional help. Sometimes in features where the monster is shown for exposition at the end of the film...this movie will not leave you wanting. I will be watching for more from this script writer and director.
Movie Review: Time To Floss... Summary: 5 Stars
Dawn (Jess Weixler) is a young girl w/ a secret. She's the leader of an abstinence group at her high school, where virginity is a difficult thing to keep. Not only is Dawn under immense pressure to lose her "precious gift", she's also got a genital mutation that puts any prospective partner in dire danger of mutilation! TEETH is a fantastic, dark comedy w/ horrifically-violent sequences of male organ severing! Don't worry, it's all done w/ such humour and glee that any true terror is out of the question! Absolutely hilarious! Highly recommended for the demented few (like myself) who enjoy insane films...
Movie Review: really, REALLY surprising Summary: 5 Stars
I must first say that I wasn't at all sure that I would like this movie, as the subject matter is beyond bizarre and Lionsgate seems to be specializing in "torture horror" these days, but this movie REALLY works! Jess Weixler turns in an incredible performance, even though she has to deal with some of the strangest subject matter ever seen in the theater, and somehow makes the whole thing credible (she also gives the best comedic/ horror screams I've ever seen). The director also did just a fantastic job of pacing and editing and matching music to scenes. Just a great and hilarious job all way round.
Movie Review: Nice, but not gory enough! Summary: 5 Stars
Here's one young woman's natural survival mechanism to male aggression. A victim of environmental pollution or just plain hard luck, this lady sure doesn't need to fear any male assaults in life, but she'll sure feel lonely someday!
No spoilers for you, watch this movie.
The only disappointment for me was that it isn't gory enough for me to classify this as a horror movie.
Does anyone know what the scriptwriters were thinking when they wrote this movie or what the directors had in mind before casting?
Movie Review: Lichtenstein one-ups his padre Summary: 5 Stars
"Teeth" is not a perfect narrative; it follows the old episodic horror format. That said, this is the first movie (in a while) that I was upset when it ended; I wanted another hour or more of Dawn O'Keefe justice.
Nothing overly shocking or original in my opinion but beyond worth seeing solely for a few select scenes that brought me near to tears with laughter.
