Movie Review: Ghastly tripe.
Summary: 1 Stars

I find it fascinating to watch teenage films from the 80s; their values, what it is that kids aspire to...and because most pander to American's sexual repression and cross over into the realm of what I call "ultra" soft-core. Teen Witch is an undiluted relic from this era, a horrific piece of garbage only outdone by truly satanic filth like "Clueless" and "Can't Buy Me Love."

There are things that are dated but reveal the charming and sincere aspect of a cultural epoch, and then there are things things like Teen Witch -- with its "rap" musical aspirations and depressingly awful stereotypes. Apart from the botched comedy, fantasy, melodrama... we have a film that aspires to say something about teen angst but says nothing as it is so dishonest and only furthers the repressive, hate-filled environment in its ersatz sentimentality. Joseph Goebbels would have loved "Teen Witch."
