Movie Reviews of Taxi (Widescreen Edition)

Movie Review: Yellow cabbie road madness!
Summary: 3 Stars

"Taxi (2004)" puts Queen Latifah (Belle) and Jimmy Fallon (Washburn) together for the big screen. Queen Latifah was on Saturday Night Live and worked with Jimmy Fallon. Director Tim Story said the have great chemistry, so he decided to make "Taxi."

"Taxi (2004)" takes the non-driving, keystone cop Washburn and ultra, taxi mechanic Belle on a high speed chase to track down four supermodel bank robbers. The bank robbers are lead by Vanessa. (Gisele Bundchen)

This movie has a few gut busting laughs but overall lacks comedic discipline. Adlib is usually funny if it fits the right character. Jimmy Fallon (Washburn) goes over the edge as the inept police officer. Queen Latifah fits nicely in her character. The slick, transforming yellow taxicab takes center stage though and is more interesting than the movie. Can you actually get over 25 mph on the streets of New York?

Ann Margaret (Washburn's alcoholic mother) is true to form as her character. The love him or hate him NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon also makes a special cameo.

Movie Review: QUEEN TAXI DRIVER
Summary: 3 Stars

TAXI is one silly little movie, but has enough laughs and some really innovative chase scenes, to be passing entertainment. Queen Latifah struts her stuff gloriously as novice cabbie Belle Williams who dreams one day of being a NASCAR driver. Jimmy Fallon is fun as Detective Washburn, a bumbling accident prone cop who couldn't drive a vehicle if his life depended on it. When Washburn loses his driver's license and is demonted to a beat cop, he shanghais Belle's cab to stop a robbery in progress. The robbers are four beautiful chicks who are pretty darned good at what they do and the rest of the movie finds Belle and Washburn trying to bring the girlies down.
It's all preposterous and loopy as heck, but Latifah and Fallon have a good rapport; Ann-Marget is fun as Fallon's floozy mother, obviously having a great time in a non-traditional role. Only Jennifer Esposito as Marta, Fallon's boss and ex-girlfriend seems miscast; it's hard to picture this buxom beauty as a cop, let alone a lieutenant.
But TAXI is fun viewing and you could do lots worse.

Movie Review: Fast, Funny and enjoyable
Summary: 3 Stars

I found this movie to be a good laugh even so it wasn't brilliant as some parts where just dam right stupid. But I think that Jimmy Fallon and Queen Latifah kept this film above water as they where a good team against crime. The storyline is pretty straight forward, Fallon is playing the role of a cop who is a terrible driver and ends up losing his licence by driving his car into a store window and killing a partite. City banks are being robbed around the streets of New York by 4 women who are super models. This is where queen Latifah comes into the picture, as she is a cab driver who helps Fallon out as he can't drive any more.

This film is not a Oscar winning but it's something easy to watch as there are a few laughs their and than. I found it to be pleasing to the point of saying its just OK. I thought Jimmy Fallon was a pretty funny guy as this was his first real movie. I am looking forward to seeing his new movie with Drew Barrymore in Fever Pitch.

Movie Review: Funny from start to finish..Stupid but it's supose to be stupid
Summary: 3 Stars

Queen Latifah rules like she dose in most of her movies in this stupid but good comadey. The film stars Jimmy Fallon as a bad cop and a terrible driver( as if he would be allowed in the police if your a bad driver as he), Fallon then teams up with Latifah to catch bank Robers. The film is funny from start to finish but is really stupid. You have to turn of your brain to like this movie. It has many stupid moments but it's a movie. Overall the movie is really funny and you wont be disapointed.

Movie Review: Good Rental, Some Pretty Funny Parts
Summary: 3 Stars

This movie is a good rental, but I wouldn't buy it, I like Queen Latifah and Jimmy Fallon so I thought the cast was pretty good. There were some pretty funny parts, One part I was crying because I was laughing so hard. Like I said it is a good rental movie if your looking for something stupid-funny too watch.
