Movie Review: Tarzan pre-quel; let George do it!
Summary: 4 Stars
This direct-to-video release would not have been worth watching, let alone buying, without the work of the late George Carlin. The original Disney animated telling of the Tarzan story was a theatrical release which lived up to the typical expectations for a Disney product. This attempt to fill in some of the back story missing from the original fell short on several counts, but was saved from disaster by Carlin's personification of "Zu-Gor", a character not included in the original.
Phil Collins did contribute some new music for this project, but it was not as captivating as what he wrote the first go round.
Having said all that, I was glad to find it available on Amazon at a considerable saving, because our 10 year old couldn't care less what I thought of it. Her copy had gotten lost somewhere along the line and she was not about to settle for the original, when she loved "T-2".
Movie Review: Not a Sequal!!

Ok this looks like a cute movie and I will get it for my Disney animated movie collection. The thing is, they should have called it Tarzan the Early Years or Tarzan Beginings. This is really a prequal. They alreay came out with Tarzan and Jane. That is the sequal. It is life after the two get married and Jane and her dad move into the jungle. That movie was a set up for the Tarzan cartoon series. If you don't beleive me it should be here on amazon somewhere. So this is really a Disney mistake. Just wanted you all to know that. They didn't get the sequal part right like one of you said in a review.Movie Review: pretty good prequel

After reading other reviews of this movie, I decided to rent the DVD. It is a very cute movie! Usually sequels are kinda lame and never are as good as the original movie, but this prequel was good- I enjoyed it right along with my kids- ages 10, 6, almost 4 and 2. I especially liked that it had kid charcters that respected and obeyed their parents - "yes m'am" which is how my children are instructed to respond to any adult. I was surprised. The animation was as beautiful as the first. ANd the story wasn't half bad. I'm 19 and I still giggled like a 3 year old at some parts. It was a good sequel. It had Sabor in it....come on....that deserves your time alone! It's worth it. At least rent it. It's not a waste. I was hooked to the tv the whole time. ANd there aren't any cheesy songs. The new Phil Collins songs are catchy and pretty darn good! I'm glad I purchased this one, if you're an avid disney animation fan, this is a must!Movie Review: about the case?

I need an answer to a question concerning the case. I recently bought a used Tarzan II movie and it had a cheap flimsy case wirh a frame backing covered over with transparent material. Did Disney do that or did the seller? I don't want to make a false accusation against the seller, but I can't amagine Disney doing such a thing. Would you please respond. I need to know one way or the other.
