Movie Reviews of SwordfishMovie Review: Amazing movie... Summary: 5 Stars
When i saw the previews of this movie, i thought the name was kinda goofy, but when i went and saw it at the movie theatre with my friends, i thought this movie kicked butt. it was awesome. basically, the movie is about a guy who is blackmailed into helping a high tech thief steal alot of money. the main character is Stanley, played by Hugh jackman, who i think is cool, and is hired by Travolta, who always plays awesome bad guys. the great things about this movie are 1) the action scenes and the way the film is shot with the different colored hues than normal lite gives it a high tech sweet look 2) the awesome car 3) the really cool beginning and ending, and 4) the most important : halle berry's amazing topless scene. any guy who saw this movie and thinks that scene is pointless, is the biggest nerd ever. this movie was an awesome guy movie, and anybody who wants to get an awesome movie to watch while drinking and hanging out with your friends, GET THIS MOVIE!
Movie Review: You'll either love it or hate it Summary: 5 Stars
Basically, you'll either love this one or hate it. It's amazingly simple, and it has no hidden meaning. Its precisely what it says it is: a movie about an ex-CIA spy who steals $9.5 billion from the government to fight terrorists. This isn't your standard action-thriller. Rather, its a mix of techno-thriller, action, and sex. Shortly after the beginning of the movie, the hero-hacker is forced to crack a difficult code while getting a blow-job, with a gun to his head, as a test of his abilities. Like I said, you'll either love it or hate it.It has enough interesting plot twists to separate it from typical action movies; but yet, its not complicated. You won't have to think for this movie. I will admit, I was very skeptical at first. I mean, John Travolta with a little thin-beard underneath his lips? That already seemed stupid. But I think you'll find it to be a good movie if you give it a chance.
Movie Review: Slick, Suspenseful, Intelligent, and Action Packed Summary: 5 Stars
Wow, what an outstanding plot, elite special effects, and spectacular performances! This film is slick, suspenseful, intelligent, and definitely action packed. With one of the most gorgeous explosions that Hollywood has to offer it can't hold a candle to the Matrix, but it's suspense, and special effects match. To appreciate this film to the furthest capacity, one should experience it in 5.1 or greater Dolby Digital sound. Under no doubt, should this film receive an academy award for outstanding special effects. It's amazing what 20 lbs. of C4 can do to an entire block, and then capturing every piece of glass shatter and every wall crack is mind boggling. What even adds more enjoyment to this film is its cast: John Travolta, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, and Don Cheadle. I would definitely recommend this film to anyone who enjoyed The Matrix, enjoys out-of-this-world special effects, and/or adores suspense.
Movie Review: Swordfish: Accepted Summary: 5 Stars
Oh yes. John Travolta sporting the "Pulp Fiction" hair and Hugh Jackman (that one guy from "X-Men") and Halle Berry all in one movie! Travolta's character is an anti-terrorist who hires a computer hacker (Jackman) to make some cheap money. $9.5 billion to be exact is to be transferred into the man's bank accounts or else. Halle Berry pulls Jackman to the operation and how can he refuse? She kicks major stern in this movie! He will do his job or people will perish and the bad guy will win. The monologue at the beginning with Travolta looking at the camera and asking his audience why didn't Al Pacino win in "Dog Day Afternoon". It's truly awesome. Plenty of 360* action and comedy for everyone to enjoy. Watch for a flying bus, yes, and people rolling down a steep hill. Although, the movie has no plot and cheap action, I'm sure any action fan will feast on it!
Movie Review: Awesome Action Movie that asks the right questions Summary: 5 Stars
First, the action. Swordfish has some of the best action sequences in a movie. Within the first 5 minutes-I was clenching my seat going "OH MY GOD." Second, the questions. Movie questions- The opening seen talks about the lack of realism in movies. "What he (the bad guy) wanted to get away with it. Really wanted to get away with it." Most movies don't really address that. This one does. Terrorism questions-This movie asks, how far do you go to protect US citizens? A very good question. People might even pay attention after 9-11. The computer stuff is a bit hokie, but thats the worst thing in the movie to me. They had to some graphical representation of the 'worm.' After all, just showing lines of code would be very boring. Even before 9-11, this was a great action movie about terrorism.
