Movie Review: Loved It !
Summary: 5 Stars
I think some people tried to think too hard about this movie - it was pure entertainment: good-natured, charming (if predictable), a romantic "comedy of errors". One needed to just suspend belief and enjoy the moment.Reese Witherspoon's charisma and charm lent much to "Sweet Home Alabama". Granted, Melanie was not perfect, but she honestly showed the conflicts she felt in her personal tug of war: the country mouse vs. the city girl, the real vs. the phony, all personified in the mock Civil War battle of the north vs. the south.
I thought this was a good portrayal of small-town southern life and of someone who doesn't quite fit in no matter where she is. Witherspoon's facial and body language showed this conflict perfectly. She is a gem.....and the rest of the talented cast did a great job too.
I also loved that SIMON PEARCE's gorgeous, stunning glass pieces were used in this movie. You will have to see it to find out what I mean!
Movie Review: Reese gets down home and dirty

Reese Witherspoon is adorable as Melanie Carmicheal. Seet Home Alabama is one of the best romantic comedies since My Best Friends Wedding. Melanie Carmichael is an down home sweetheart turned high society New York fashion Designer. When the Mayors son (played by Patrick Dempsey) asks her to marry him, she must return to her hometown of Pigeon Creek to divorce her high school sweetheart husband. Upon returning home, she begins to realize how much she misses the folks she left behind including the husband who never made anything of himself (Played by the sexy Josh Lucas). She spends so much time trying to get Jake (the ex) to sign his divorce papers, that she doesn't see what is right in front of her, the love of her life. The sweet comedy and romantic notions in this film will no doubt make it a classic, it is already a hit for Reese and will be for you as well. Rent it and see for yourself just how Sweet Home can be.Movie Review: Country mouse moves to city and becomes city mouse

This movie is your typical country mouse moves to city and becomes city mouse. City mouse goes back to the country and is very "ashamed" of the country where it orginally came from. What makes this story different is the "romantic" side of the city mouse and the realization that the city mouse really isn't a city mouse at all, she is still a country mouse inside her heart. What I really liked about this movie in a whole is the slow realization that one must be honest in one's life to really achieve happiness with one's self and others around them. I don't mean to stand on a "soap box", but this is a story that is very hard hitting in that fact. The story is well acted and presented in a way that you don't quiet know what is coming next. See this movie if you want some laughs and have some good fun. I highly recommend this movie to all comedy fans of all ages.Movie Review: Sweet Home Alabama

Melanie Carmichael an up and rising fashion designer in New York, has gotten almost everything she wished for since she was little. She has a great career and the JFK-like husband of New York City. But when he proposes to her, she doesn't forget about her family back down South and, more importantly, her husband back there, who refuses to divorce her ever since she sent divorce paper for almost 5 years. To settle matters straight, she decides to go to the south quick and make him sign the papers. But when things don't turn out the way she planned them out, she realizes that what she had before in the south was far more perfect than the life she had in new york city. Reese Witherspoon terrific heartfelt performance makes this movie work. "Sweet Home Alabama" a great movie for those who enjoy a good comedy, and especially those who like Reese Witherspoon.Movie Review: Very Sweet!

I just have to say that, Sweet Home Alabama was a great romantic comedy! The story line was great and it was a good reminder, to all, to remember your roots. The actors were great! All of them! That Josh Lucas (Jake) was great in his role and I was truly touched by his humor and sensitivity. I hope to see him in leading roles in the near future! Although the movie did have a predictable ending, I found myself hoping Melanie would end up choosing Jake, whom really loved her for who she is. There are some very funny scenes, like when Jake thought that he had locked Melanie out of the house, but forgot that she knew where the spare key was hidden! It was great, down to earth fun!
This is most likely more of a chick-flick, but great for those guys out there in-touch with their sensitive side.
I hope you enjoy this movie as much as I did!!
