Movie Reviews of Sweet 15Movie Review: A Heart-Warming Movie Summary: 4 Stars
This movie is about a girl named Marta who is coming about the age 15. She must learn that becoming 15 isn't just about the party it's about making a difference in herself. I liked that in every scene has something to do about family. Most things Marta did were for here and her family. Marta showed her adulthood by not doing something for herself but for someone else. Family is very important in this movie. My favorite part was when Marta stopped thinking about herself becuase it's a lesson everyone needs to learn in their life time. There's a time that your selfiness could get you in trouble, so every one needs to know that lesson. What I didn't like was that her father got angry at everything she did. He would tell her one thing and that was to follow what she thought was right, but everything she did that she thought was right he would push her down for doing that. She tried so hard to follow that and make her father proud but he didn't realize that. This movie is good for anyone, and any purpose weather it's for spansh class, or for fun, this movie is enjoyable. I recommend this for anyone becuase it teaches about immigration and a quinceanera, also about the Mexican culture. Spanish teachers should show this because it is very educational. This movie shows courage to stand up for what you think is right even if you're standing alone.

Movie Review: Touching and funny yet informative Summary: 4 Stars
I watched this movie in Spanish class because we were learning about quinceaneras. Some topics that were brought out in the movie were immigration, love, responsibility, and friendship. I liked when the door fell off Ramon's car. I found it very funny because even though the car was all beat up, you didn't expect the door to fall off. I also liked when Octavio stepped on Marta's foot because he couldn't dance. That was very funny too.
My favorite part was when Ramon was trying to learn to read and write for Marta. It was very sweet of him to do that, even though it wasn't just for Marta, but himself. I didn't like how Marta's father was being mean when she was just trying to help him. It was rude of him.
I would recommend this video to a Spanish teacher who was teaching their class about Spanish traditions and/or immigration, because it really gets into those subjects.

Movie Review: outrageous and extravagant performance Summary: 4 Stars
I watched this movie for Spanish class because we were learning about immigration, deportation and Mexican heritage. Some themes that were brought up in the movie was Quinceanera's and immagration. I liked that the movie taught you to pursue your dream, even if it takes you to go beyond your boundaries. My favorite part of the movie was when one of thye main characters went out of her way to do what needed to be done for her family. I didn't like when the Mexicans were being deported back to Mexico. That was terrifying and horrible. Also when the main characters friends yelled ou a horrible thing to scare the Mexicans. That was despicable behavior. I would recommend this movie to others because it is a wonderful to learn about a different culture and history. It teaches you to know others backgrounds and where they started. Plus the movie was fantastic!

Movie Review: Interesting, fun, and enjoyable. Summary: 4 Stars
I watched this movie in Spanish class because we were learning about Mexican culture. Themes of this movie are family bonds, immigration problems, and a quincea?era. The music in this DVD moves along with the story. Appropriate music was played at appropriate times. Everything from dramatic to fast music was played. My favorite part of the movie was when Octavio tried to dance with Marta, and he was all serious about it and hurt Marta. It was funny how he danced, but a little upsetting Marta got hurt. The only problem you can have with this movie is if you don't understand Spanish. At some points, the characters speak Spanglish, and you need to be able to understand it. I would reccomend this movie to anyone learning about immigration. This is also a good movie for a girl that wants an enjoyable movie. This was revied by a 6th grade student, Matt.
Movie Review: muy interestante Summary: 4 Stars
I watched this movie in Spanish class because it dealt with a girl having her quinceanera. Three things that were major in this movie were immigration, deportation, and the styles and life going through your sweet 15. What I likes about sweet 15 was the storyline of a sweet girl living her life and having to deal with major family problems. I liked the ending when Marta surprises her father with papers that might have changed his life. My favorite part is when Marta and her friends went to the carnival. This is where she meets the man that put all the effort towards her life and big family problems. I didn't like the actor of Ramon because he wasn't the same age as Marta. Yes I enjoyed the actor of Marta, she was so serious and made it realistic. I recommend this movie for middle school classes. I really enjoyed this movie a lot!
