Movie Review: A Musical for Everybody
Summary: 5 Stars
When it comes to the realm of Broadway Musicals I am about as much as a layman as one can get. However, even I must bow my head in reverence to the masterful musical genius of this show. Every song is an amazing thing to behold and the story is exactly how I like things; dark, dreary, and yet very humorous. I've seen Sweeney Tod on PBS many, many times, and with each and every viewing this thing just keeps getting better! You don't have to be a musical lover to enjoy Sweeney Tod. It has an appeal that transcends all lines and is guaranteed to be entertaining to any who buy this DVD (if and when it comes out). I myself am white-trash slob why hated Cats, (forgive me for expecting to have a little story in my musicales), and am currently wearing a "I See Dumb People" T-shirt. My being the last person who would fall in love with a musical just goes to show the mass appeal that Sweeney Tod has. This truly is a DVD worthy of everybody's collection which should be enjoyed by all. Treat yourself and buy this disk.
