Movie Review: Alright! A spoof movie that ROCKS!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars
Since I am visiting my cousins in Calgary, last night we decided to go to the movies and see Superhero Movie. I'm not a fan of spoof movies; Scary Movie 1, 2, and 4 were great, SM3 sucked, Date movie sucked, Epic Movie was pretty good, and Meet The Spartans was just OK. I wasn't expecting much out of this but due to the fact that it was made by the same writers as Airplane and The Naked Gun, I knew I was bound to love it.
And guess what? I did.
I am very shocked by the 4.1/10 rating this movie has at the moment, I think a low rating was expected, but I still do not get how this only has a 4.1. Spoofing X Men, Spider Man, Fantastic 4 and other movies, this is an awesome spoof.
So the story is: Rick Riker is a young high school student who lives with is grandparents. His parents were killed when he was young and he keeps a ring in memoriam of them. He also has a crush on the sexy girl next door named Jill Johnson, who's boyfriend is a total jerk. One day while at an animal observatory, he gets bitten by a dragonfly, which causes him to have superpowers. He becomes a superhero named DragonFly, and soon has to face up to a villain named Hourglass, who can make people die of old age just by touching them. Now if only he can get past that crazy bald chick at that school, having his crouching spot taken away by Human Torch, and Wolverine shaving his hairy legs with his claws...
This movie is absolutely hilarious. Steven Hawking jokes, Superheros, farting, Pamela Anderson, you name it!
