Movie Review: Okay...no cream.
Summary: 5 Stars
Super Troopers is a movie that didn't get much play at the theaters, but since being released on DVD has built up a cult following. Why? It's hilarious.The movie was conceived and written by the five-man comedy troupe "Broken Lizard." Each member is perfectly cast as a highway trooper, from Rabbit, the good-natured rookie, to Farva, the cop with the ultimate superiority complex.
There isn't much to discuss in the way of plot. It's essentially the highway patrolmen versus the local cops, constantly in an effort to outdo each other due to a pending budget cut - neither wants to get the axe. But when it turns out the locals may be into something illegal, the highwaymen stage a full-on covert operation to expose them.
The real genius is not in the storyline, but in the characters and the humor. Each character is nailed to a "T". This is one of those movies with a limitless barrel of one-liners. Watch it with a group of people and I promise you'll be quoting from the film daily.
Speaking to value of the DVD, it's worth the price simply for the repeat-watchability of the film. You can put it in again and again...it just doesn't get old.
FYI - These guys have a new movie coming out called "Club Dread." It comes out in theaters Feb. 27th.
Movie Review: A Complete Surprise

When I first saw the previews to this film, I felt like I stepped into a time warp back to the 80's. Was this movie trying to be Cannonball Run? Police Academy? Why? WHY?On the recommendation of a friend, I swallowed my fears and my dislike of so-called "wacky" comedies and shelled out the cash to see Super Troopers. I was almost embarassed to even walk into the theater, but I'll tell you what...it was the best $7 I've spent in a long time.
All the other reviews of this film seem to emphasize that the movie is "slapstick," and "brainless." I'd actually disagree with that diagnosis. On the contrary, I think this is really a very smart film. Why? Beacuse it doesn't rely on formulaic plot devices, or try to squeeze in a contrived family-friendly moral(like the wretched "Orange County"). Rather, it just presents some of the most original, unexpected, laugh-out loud comedy I've ever seen. It's just plain funny--Funny beacuse you don't see the jokes, punchlines, or plot twists coming from a mile away.(Hey, "Orange County." Once again, I'm looking at you!).
If you're a fan of Kids in the Hall or the Upright Citizens Brigade, see this film. See it now. You won't be disappointed.
Movie Review: My New Cult Classic

I took my little brother to Super Troopers in the theater in the perfect state of mind - low expectations - which I highly recommend. I died laughing! Then I went again with a buddy and I died laughing again. I ended up seeing it again with him and his wife along with another couple and now it filters through random conversations we have. Lines like "I can't pull over any further...I'm already pulled over", "It smells like sex in here", "that little guy... I wouldn't worry about that little guy" and "I want a liter of cola" - totally crack us up. I bought the DVD the first day it came out (I only own one other DVD so this isn't a normal thing for me) and I've watched it again 3 times including last night, it's become one of those movies for me where I look forward to each scene and start laughing just thinking about it.I'll have to say that I know a couple of people who saw Super Troopers and didn't like it. But I think it's more that they wouldn't like any movie in this "genre". So in my perspective - if you like Office Space, Caddyshack, Airplane, you'll be down with Super Troopers.
Movie Review: Great movie!!!! Everyone should see it!

I couldn't wait to see Super Troopers. I went the opening day, and I must say it is definitely worth the money. I laughed throughout the entire movie. I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard in a movie. Not only does it have the humor, but it has some mighty nice looking guys, like Steve Lemme (Mac) and Jay Chandrasekhar (Thorny). I liked it so much I saw it a second time, and perhaps I will see it a third. Everyone should see this movie. It will keep you laughing. The only reason I gave Super Troopers five stars was because ten isn't an option.Broken Lizard is definitely made up of comedic geniuses. Whoever came up with the mind games the Troopers play with motorists, especially the cat game, should get an award or something. If you like Monty Python movies, you will love Super Troopers. Could Broken Lizard be the new version of Monty Python? We can hope and personally I think it could happen. They could do it. The bottom line is Go See Super Troopers. Then see it again. It is well worth it.

A Cult Classic! One word: Vermont. This movie is absolutely hilarious. It is a movie about the Vermont State Troopers, I did'nt even know that there were Vermont State Troopers. The only time I was pulled over in Vermont it was by a local cop in Killington.
These cops guzzle maple syrup competively and have games such as who can sneak the word Meow to a person they pull over. Did you say meow? I smiled so hard when I first saw this movie my cheeks hurt, it is cunningly witty in an intellegent way rather than slapstick. But its slapstick too. The plot thickens when an woman is found murdered and her tattoo of Johnny Chimpo is connected to an international crime ring with the help of some German sexual deviants pulled over doing over a 100 in a stolen porsche. Sweet Jesus...
If you are in the market for a comedy this is the movie. If you grew up visiting Vermont buy this movie. If the snazzberries taste like snazzberries or if you boys like Mex-i-co buy this movie.
