I loved Summer Magic! It is the typical Disney movie that I grew up with back in the 50's and I wouldn't be afraid for my grandchildren to sit with me while watching it. Dorothy Maguire, Haley Mills and Burl Ives are wonderful in this family picture. Anyone wanting to watch a movie that is lighthearted and fun, this I recommend and have your grandchildren with you....they'll enjoy seeing how things were in the "olden days".Movie Review: Summer Magic not "Natty Ganned" By Disney Studios after all!

This is a wonderful 5 star family film from the brilliant Walt Disney! Even though Disney emailed me saying this was being released in Full Sreen Format aspect ratio of 1.33:1, I now see Disney's web site says it will be in it's OAR of 1.75:1. Finally some good news from Disney! Unfortunately, "That Darn Cat" and "In Search of the Castaways" didn't rate the same treatment.Movie Review: Excellent, Long Time Coming to DVD

Classic Hayley Mills film. Glad it finally came out on DVD. Such joyous and innocent films like this are not made nowdays. Do hope one of her more serious films, The Chalk Garden with Deborah Kerr and her father will also be soon available on DVD. This movie had such an impact on me as a child, I grew up always wanting to live in a "yellow house" (I finally did too!). Always enjoy Hayley Mills/Disney movies but this is absolutely one of my favorites. Great cast and I always love Burl Ives singing the "Ugly Bug Ball"!!
