Movie Review: Incredibly Enjoyable
Summary: 5 Stars
I still think the main reason that this works is Bruce Willis. But when you factor in someone of the skill of Pastorelli, a guy who manages to make Arnie look brilliant, you have a good fun action movie.
Pastorelli said on Letterman , that even Arnie knows he is not a great actor, but he knew that Arnie still made good films, since people watch Arnie for Arnie.
However, if you watch Pastorelli, hell, you get the whole kit and kaboodle. This together with Brion James, and the great supporting cast ( And I do NOT include Sarah Jessica in this) you get a fun and enjoyable movie.
Also, the Death of Bruce Willis's characters Father is very moving.Whilst his character has a small role, it is a key plot point.

Movie Review: Underrated Genre Gem
Summary: 5 Stars
Bruce Willis at the peak of his action hero form playing a cynical hard-boiled cop trying to fight the system. A pre-Sex and the City Sarah Jessica Parker at the peak of her cuteness. Great character actors like Dennis Farina, Tom Sizemore, Brion James, Tom Mahoney, and Andre Braugher. Superb on location cinematography shot by Mac Ahlberg in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a cool genre score by Brad Fiedel (love that saxaphone love theme) and on the mark (and wonderfully over the top) direction by Rowdy Herington of Road House fame. Striking Distance is a nice little hard boiled action gem that seems to be slowly gaining a nice little cult following. For fans of 80's and 90's action films, this is a movie worth seeking out.Movie Review: Fully entertaining..!

This is a great movie, there is nothing you can not like in this movie.
Bruce willis as well as the rest of the cast did a good job in this movie with very good acting, the plot is also entertaining with some twists in it, the whole thing about how all the family members of Bruce are cops is just cool, reminded me a little of cop land (town of cops), but this movie is even better than cop land.
Tom sizemore performance was also noticable, even Sarah jessica parker was good here.
currently, i only own a VHS copy of the movie, but if any one have not seen it yet, my advice is to buy the DVD because this movie is worth it and is FULLY ENTERTAINING !
Movie Review: typical cop flick with atypical setting

This movie follows one of the typical cop movie plots -- discgraced cop being tormented, The setting is not the typical Chicago or Los Angeles, rather it follows Bruce Willis as a river cop in Pittsburgh. The plot is not very deep and if you think about things too hard you may be unhappy. The movie does provide plenty of good exciting entertainment with plenty of cool Bruce Willis "looks". Sarah Jessica Parker does a great job playing his unwanted partner (another standard cop movie cliche) too.I thought the ending dragged on a bit long, but overall it was very enjoyable.

I cannot see where these people who want to dump on this movie get their input. Predictable, I'd like to have been there the first time they saw it just so they could tell me what was going to happen next, I doubt that they could! Bruce was born to play the alcoholic cop, why belittle him for playing what he plays best? If you're reading this to get a general idea of whether or not to see this movie, I say go for it, you will not be dissappointed! Beginning to end, this movie will keep you riveted to the screen! So much talent, and all right in little old Pittsburgh PA!
