Movie Reviews of Strange Brew

Movie Review: Classic 80's Movie
Summary: 5 Stars

One of the all time great movies to be watched again and again. You have to learn all the lines! This has to be Rick Moranis' best performance ever. He'll never be able to top it. A great spin off of one of the greatest comedy TV shows (SCTV) skits, The Great White North. Many have been waiting and writing to Dave Thomas himself to find out when this movie would be released on DVD and now it is here. A definite must for anyones collection. A great family movie! Watch it with the kids. Only one seen where Bob and Doug see their mother and father (played by Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas) in a precarious situation. Other than that, it is clean, eh.

Movie Review: This movie was shot in 3-B, three beers and it looks good, eh?
Summary: 5 Stars

What more can be said about Strange Brew? Flying dogs, hosers, tainted beer tested on mental patients who are forced to play hockey in black and white armor... what more do you need? A comedy classic that defies classification, Bob and Doug make fun of the Great White North before it was fashionable: true pioneers of comedy. Even more, they are clearly highly educated Shakespearean scholars, portraying what is surely the most... uhh... interesting rendition of Hamlet ever produced. And you even get to learn what a grip is! They're like these guys who live up in the rafters eh? But I digress. Uh, that's it. Take off you knob.

Movie Review: Take Off, you hoser? Where is Geddy Lee?
Summary: 5 Stars

If you need to unwind a little and let your mind turn to the utterly silly side of life, let Strange Brew be your outlet. I can remember the first time I saw this movie. I was twelve years old and I laughed myself silly. So many years later, it still packs a whallop. I had the pleasure of introducing the McKenzie Bros. to my teenage daughter, and she loved it. This movie is a classic of cult-side proportions. Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas as well as the ensemble cast of misfits is hilarious. So sit down, pop a brew, put on a tuke and take off...to the Great White North. You won't regret it...

Movie Review: I love this film
Summary: 5 Stars

What can I say I have the vhs of this movie and love it. To start I have been waiting for this to come to DVD for about a year and a half, and the best thing is I'm not that only one. I've spoken to several people about it.

Now what to say about the film itself? it's riot of laughter. The humor is funny and childish, but I would have to say its for specific people. It's not really for people who live off the droned humor of late. It's more a for a fan of the stooges or evil dead. A cult film. I suggest you check it out.

Movie Review: Intelligently Dumb
Summary: 5 Stars

What can I say, eh? This movie not only boosted the careers of Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas, but may have also helped the Canadian brewing corporations. As the two McKenzie brothers save the world from a madman (played wonderfully by Max Von Sydow), their adventures are nothing short of hilarious. This is definitley a cult classic and should be a staple in the diet of collectors and beer swillers worldwide. "Hey, is it getting warmer in here?"
