Movie Review: That's right, we bad ...
Summary: 3 Stars

Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder were one of the funniest duos in comic history. They had chrisma and chemistry together, and they pulled off a few hilarious moments here and there, but the story was weak at best. Pryor and Wilder decide to try their luck by leaving New York City and headed out to sunny California at screenwriting. Like so many who had dreams before them, they take embarassing jobs dressed as chickens and are wrongly convicted of robbing a bank. They are sent to prison, and the hilarity unfolds. That "we bad" scene was all improve and one of the most hilarious scenes ever. Wilder is always a hoot, with his lovable eccentric nature who torments the warden and those trying to hurt him with his odd humor.

However, this movie fails to deliver. The story is weak at best, and the whole thing seems to sputter out to a stop after the first hour. Their inevitable prison break is a success, and they drive out into the sunset to live happily ever after. Meh... The rodeo subplot takes away from the story, and there aren't enough funny moments once it's introduced. The other prisoners are funny as well, but left undeveloped. Watch it for some lite entertainment.

Movie Review: Great movie potential...falls apart after one hour!
Summary: 3 Stars

This movie could have been a 5 star but alas is let down by a bland one hour ending. Great moments include the Pryor scene where his weed is accidently put into the salad and is served to an unexpected dinner party that has hilarious moments. My favourite, as is most who have seen this is the Jail scene. Pryor stole this part with his 'my mother was a sharp son of .... my brother was so sharp we couldn't even see him...' bit. The Jail break planning and the break itself was where this movie failed. There is hardly any dialogue, lame soundtrack, and absolutely NO COMEDY between Pryor and Wilder. Don't ignore the film because of this, as the first hour is probably the funniest thing you'll ever see!
I'd still watch the film though just for the first hour and then select the end credits with that 'nothins gonna stop us now' song. If you like the Wilder and Pryor pairing than watch Silver Streak.

Movie Review: A good if uneven film
Summary: 3 Stars

That bit about that hulking murderer killing his family, all his relatives, and everyone who reminds him of them in one weekend was uneven. The fag in the film Murray might actually be a girl is uneven as an element. But the film still has lots of laughs just the same.
