Movie Review: Always a pleasure to see the obscure stuff out on DVD

With all of the overproduced crap and modern performances from classic stars, it is always a pleasure to see the true performers in their prime. Hopefully DVD producers will continue to see that classic concerts and live TV performances are what fans want to see, not cheesy compilations or performances way past prime. While Stephen Stills is best known for his work with CSN, his fans continued to follow him through subsequent solo albums. His unique voice and extremely underrated guitar skills are a treat to see live. While these songs from Stills and Manassas are unknown to most and will never see airplay again, they are honest, well crafted, and give a rare glimpse of the talents of Stills and this talented backing band. The audio quality is very good and the atmosphere is relaxed. If you are a fan of Stills and CSN this DVD is well worth having.
