Movie Reviews of Stephen King's ItMovie Review: Clowns are scary to begin with Summary: 5 Stars
This is one scary miniseries. Everyone knows that clowns are creepy, we'll Pennywise will bring it all up about ten notches. Really, this Stephen King adaptation is very scary. Not as scary as The Shining and Pet Cemetery, but still very scary. If you think clowns are harmless, try to at least stare at one once you're finished with Stephen King's It. With a total of over 190 minutes, you'll find yourself hoping that the Stop button to your remote control really works. There are so many intense moments in this 1990 miniseries, such as the infamous fortune cookie scene or the picture that comes to life in front of our protagonists' eyes, and of course, the scene in which Pennywise is seen under a storm drain. So it's true: this is one heck of a horror flick. It's not as great as other King adaptations like The Shining, but it's still something that'll make you leave your lights on while you sleep.
So have a good time getting scared by Stephen King's It. And remember now:
". . . they ALL float . . ."
Movie Review: The Best! Summary: 5 Stars
To me, horror should be more than a crazed person with a chain saw or ax. This made-for-tv stephen king adaption performs a 'fun' form of horror that is far better than any other horror around. I don't know about you, but who wants to Buy a movie that just has guts flying all over the screen? Not I. This movie has zero violence, but the horror is just as powerful as any nightmare on elm street. The story has to do with 7 friends from childhood, who discovered their small town Derry, Maine featured a monster that so horrible it is nameless. They finally destroy the beast, but 30 years later... IT comes back, so once again the friends attempt to kill the darned thing. This movie is both Fun, by the fact that you can enjoy it without throwing up, and the fact that our slasher is a Clown. But viewing this in the day will be an enjoying experience, viewing it in the night will result in nightmares. a must have for any stephen king, horror, or movie buff.
Movie Review: ONE FREAKING SCARY CLOWN!!! OR WHATEVER "IT" IS! Summary: 5 Stars
Let me just say that stephen king is the BEST AUTHOR!!! most of his movies (with the exception of dreamcatcher and the tommyknockers) have scared the socks off me! This movie (along with Pet sematary and The shining) scare me every time i watch them. anyway "it" is about these seven kids (or the loser's club as they call them-selves) who live in a town where "it" lives. they go out and try to kill it (there is more but this is just where i am going to start) and they think they do but they really don't! so about 30 years later mike (on of the kids but now a grown man) still lives in dairy (the town where "it" lives) and "it" comes back so he calls up all his buddies and they all come back and go and try to kill "it" Again. ok i left out a lot of stuff but thats just so you will find out for your-self! I urge you to go rent this movie! but make sure you have a lot of time on your hands because this movie is around 3hrs! but its still way scary!!!
Movie Review: Well adapted from the book Summary: 5 Stars
Since Stephen King's novels are extremely long, the mini series format is perfect for them. Even though SOME things have to be cut out (the author was never stingy with words or overly long descriptions), but this allows the script writer and director to leave enough stuff in to allow them to follow the original story without having to make big changes in the plot line to cover up for things that had been cut out. This movie has stayed pretty much loyal to the original story - even though the order of events in the book has been changed (in the movie, we first see the kids' story, then the adults', while in the book both are told stage by stage - for every stage the adults go through, we see the kids' equivalent). I thought that the book version was more effective. The cast (which included the amazing John Ritter, which passed away not that long ago) was great too.
Movie Review: A great made for TV movie Summary: 5 Stars
It is a movie that I saw when I was in seventh grade. I remember everyone telling me how scary it was, even my older cousin told me how scary is was. When I watched it, I didn't see what everyone thought why it was so scary. This isn't a bad movie though. I would never have known it was amde for TV, that's how good of a job the filmakers did with this movie. I'm guessing that if you have to fear the clown's (believe me that's nothing to be ashamed of) then this movie is probably one of the scariest movies you'll ever see. This is one of the few Kings movies that kids can see, it's isn't as shocking as "The Shining", or a disturbing as "Pet Sematary". There is some killing, but the violence isn't shown. There is some blood, but it isn't real disgusting. The acting is pretty good with an exceptional performance from Tim Curry as the famous clown known as Pennywise.
