Movie Reviews of Stargate SG-1 - Season 10

Movie Review: The death of a series.
Summary: 5 Stars

I was enamored with the Stargate SG-1 series right from the beginning. I watched each episode, and wanted more and more. Few TV series survive to ten seasons, especially Sci-Fi. I guess that I am unreasonable to want the show to continue, but the SG-1 crew was primo entertainment to me. I really think that it was a crime that the Sci-Fi Channel arbitrarily ended the series, as the program had so much more potential to explore. After all, what will the SG-1 team do next? Earth's main enemies had been either neutralized, or eliminated. I would have been fascinated to see what technology would have been developed by Stargate Command. And don't give me any guff about the supposed "movies" scheduled, I'll believe them when I see them. We may get one or two "movies", then the Idea of the SG-1 team dies a quiet death because nobody cares anymore. I'm too old to wait 10 or 20 years for the series to be resurrected in another form (as in Star Trek). Stargate Atlantis had possibilities, but the same idiots that ruined SG-1 are controlling Stargate Atlantis, so I do not expect this show to survive another two seasons. Too Bad!!!!!!

Movie Review: Underrated
Summary: 5 Stars

Stargate is perhaps the most underappreciated SciFi series of all time. Its defining premise of "technology as magic" is reminiscent of how the native americans first viewed the conquering europeans - they thought the white men with their guns were Gods. This premise is also a tangent largely unexplored by Star Trek, eventhough that series had the Prime Directive, it never really explored other, less enlightened, cultures that might abuse the power of technology, by enslaving other races. Others might believe that Stargate SG1 simply repeated ideas over and over again, and maybe it did, but it did so with twists and turns noone could have expected. After all, anyone can make a series about a ship travelling to other planets...Stargate was at least original in the way they got there. If nothing else Stargate can be used as an example of how Science and Technology can be used against peoples without an understanding of it.

Movie Review: Good show comes to an end
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of the best of the seasons that I have seen. If there was one problem than it was that they pushed the losing a team-mate thing too far and the need to drag Vala's father into this particular season was really unnecessary. There were some really good episodes in this one my particular favorite was when they were dealing with the cloned Ba'als and the camping trip that they took. But all in all this was a good season. It was a pretty good show, but the same time there was an issue with that bugged the h*** outta me during the whole season such as the Vala's ex-husband, and the issue with the ancients. If I had to make a decision on the bad guys in this season it would be with the government and as well as a few other areas. Seeing the show come to a close is hard, but it'll end with a bang and I look forward to those two movies when they come out.

Movie Review: Fantastic ending to one of the best shows ever.
Summary: 5 Stars

So, after 10 years of strong stories it was finaly over. The show that changed Sci-Fi on television. I now own every single DVD of Stargate, and it was with a little tear in my eye that I watched the final episode. It was an amazing ending, a fantastic job done of the cast. This show has taken its audience serious, they have evolved through the years, I was afraid that it would just be a show about a new world every week, and the alien helped/stopped. But not Stargate. After having thought about it a little, I just cant find anything negative to say about season 10 what so ever. The fact that all the stories are strong, the cast enjoying their work after so many years should tell it all. This series I will recomend to new fans for decades to come. The only thing that is not good, is that this is the last season of SG-1.

10+ in my book.

Movie Review: Stargate SG-1 Season 10 and Beyond
Summary: 5 Stars

I am a long time fan of Stargate, ever since the original movie.
In fact I saw the movie when it was in theatres.
I know that there are people of the opinion that SG-1 has run its course and that the later seasons are not as good as earlier seasons. While some of their opinions have some merit, I for one just like being able to kick back and watch a good adventure story. SG-1 has always provided that.

While I saw all season 10 episodes, on SCI-FI, I still purchased the DVDs, for my collection. I often rewatch favorite episodes. Season 10 did wrap up a few loose ends but left a lot more to hope for! I am looking forward to the direct to DVD movies (now due out in early 2008). I especially want to see the resolution of the Ori story line.

Season 10 is a must buy, as well as all other seasons and the original movie.
