Movie Reviews of Star Wars - Clone Wars, Vol. 1

Movie Review: Great for any Star Wars Fan!
Summary: 5 Stars

Both of these volumes are great for any Star Wars fan. They bridge Episode 2 and 3 in little 5 minute sequences. And they're much more enjoyable than Episode 2!

Movie Review: Star Wars - Clone Wars, Vol. 1 (Animated)
Summary: 5 Stars

My son loved these movies. They have great graphics.

Movie Review: I loved Anniken's victory yell!
Summary: 4 Stars

I liked this movie. But I think it wasn't as good as Clone Wars Volume 2. It had one excellent part -- when Anniken yelled in victory after he killed the assaisin on the moon of Yavin 4. His victory yell went like this "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"! I'm six. My Dad and I liked this dvd. But, again, Volume 2 is better.

Also, the sound effects in Volumes 1 and 2 are great. Especially the light sabre battles.

Also, the animated general grievance is great. YET AGAIN VOLUME 2 IS BETTER.

Movie Review: Star Wars
Summary: 4 Stars

Excellent way to let us know things did't know when watching the Movies.

Movie Review: Great Villains, But a Little Disjointed
Summary: 4 Stars

For a cartoon, this is a very good video. It is the first half of a two volume set and the viewer would be well served to order both DVDs at once. This video shows the battles that take place in the first half of the Clone Wars, which occur between Star Wars II and Star Wars III. The DVD runs for a little over an hour and is broken down into several chapters. This DVD also includes the movie trailer for Star War III and a short documentary on the making of this cartoon.

On the down side, this cartoon consists of several different adventures which are vaguely tied together. It is not one big comprehensive story. The transition to some of these stories is very abrupt. One scene ends and the next image is of an on-going battle somewhere else. Another unfortunate aspect of this DVD is that it is broken into two volumes. This reviewer cannot see any reason preventing the combination of both volumes into a single DVD. The result is that the viewer is left wanting more as this DVD comes to an end.

The up side is that the producers were allowed to let their imagination run wild in creating these battle scenes. For example, one battle takes place underwater and the Jedi is an amphibious creature. There is another battle where the rebel bad guy fights the clone army on jet bikes with lances. This is a scene reminiscent of mediaeval knights charging each other on horseback.

The quality of the video is excellent, as are the sound effects. The art is done in the style of Japanese anime. Overall, the stories are enthralling and the viewer will quickly forget that he or she is watching a cartoon.
