Movie Review: The best Spanish DVD for kids

My 5 year old son just started kindergarten in a dual spanish/english immersion program. Because I don't speak Spanish myself, I wanted to give both my 5 year old and my 3 year old extra exposure to Spanish to help them transition to a Spanish immersion school program. I tried a variety of different DVDs, but this DVD and the others by Whistle Fritz are by far their favorites. They are completely in Spanish, but my kids were able follow them easily because the speaking is so carefully timed with contextual cues. They immediately picked up the obvious vocabulary words, in this case the Spanish words for many animals. But now, we've watched them so many times that they understand more of the connecting language: the expressions, verb conjugations and conversational elements. The songs and music are particularly good in this series and my kids know all the songs by heart. I'd highly recommend this for kids and adults who want to learn some Spanish.
