Movie Reviews of Soylent Green

Movie Review: A classic! Though plot slow in developing, is worthwhile and cautionary.
Summary: 5 Stars

Well everyone knows what Soylent Green is, but the whole movie and journey to the realization is just as important as the ending. Seeing how these people live, cramped and restricted because of overpopulation, you really start to think that maybe Soylent Green was the best option they had. In a society where you can go to a clinic to commit suicide openly, and you can get in trouble for smuggling cherries or other precious and rare delicacies that were once so abundant, and people can be considered furniture, well it's all very interesting and strange to think about! "Soylent Green means life and death"

Movie Review: Oldie but definite goodie
Summary: 5 Stars

Considering the fact that our world's population has tripled in the last century alone, this movie is just as relevant today - if not more - as it was when this movie first came out in the 70's. The plotline is a bit cheesy, with the various Soylents and the Scoops, but for its time it was pretty ground-breaking in its foray into speculative science fiction. I will never forget Charlton's reaction and dramatic scene after he finds out just what Soylent Green is - easily one of the best scenes in the movie. It;s just as much worth watching today as it was nearly forty years ago.

Movie Review: Heston and Robinson are magic!
Summary: 5 Stars

What can I say about my favorite movie. Yes it's cheesy, but most Sci-Fi movies made then were. The best thing about this movie is the interaction between Sol (Eddie Robinson) and Thorn (Chuck Heston). Especially when Thon brings home food from the murdered Soylent director's home. Eddie Robinson was dying when He was making this film. To see them eating "real" food, and acting like they were eating it for the first time was priceless! Also the dying scene were Sol "goes home" (knowing He was dying in real life, was touching) Soylent Green is a classic!

Movie Review: Scary look in to the FUTHER.
Summary: 5 Stars

I really can't leave a review on this movie, bought it for a friend. Who has been looking for it, for sometime. And was very delighted, when i gave it to him as a gift. He had talked about it, a number of times. Saying it was a great movie, for it's time. With a great cast of Actors, and great story line. I have yet to watch it, not a big Charlton Heston fan (so not really in a big rush)!!!!

My reason for giving it 5 stars, my friend said it's worth all 5...

Movie Review: great science fiction
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of the best 70s science fiction movies and the DVD version does it justice. Much better than Omega Man in my view and at least just as good as Beneath Planet of the Apes. If you like this then maybe you would like to get hold of Cold Night's Death with Robert Culp and Eli Wallach, which is early seventies TV movie, also intelligent and doomed.
