Movie Review: GRIPPING ROMANTIC SUSPENSE THRILLER
Summary: 5 Stars
Tom Berenger is sensational in this romantic thriller movie from director Ridley Scott. He plays Mike Keegan, a newly promoted detective, who is given the assignment of (as the police put it)"babysitting" the witness to a brutal murder. The witness, Claire Gregory, played to the hilt by Mimi Rogers, is beautiful, classy and well-educated. She's especially upset because she's just seen a close friend get stabbed to death. These actors have real screen chemistry (it's not forced) which makes the movie work. While Mike Keegan is attracted to Claire from the minute he sees her, he tries to keep those feelings at bay and just be professional. However, the more time he spends with her, the harder that becomes. Lorraine Bracco is one tough cookie and does a wonderful job of playing a police officer's wife. The "perp", played by Andreas Katsulas, is really scary; he does a great job playing a psychopathic killer. All in all, a very talented cast, great plot with suspense and a taut feeling throughout really combine to make this an outstanding movie. Love this movie - it's funny, serious, romantic and suspenseful. I loved the hairstyles, makeup and high fashion clothes. It takes place in New York. Love the Manhattan penthouse that Claire Gregory (Mimi Rogers) lives in It takes a look at two classes of people, the very wealthy from Manhattan, and the lower class working people who live in Queens. It tears apart a good recently promoted detective and his family, but yet the wealthy socialite didn't have intentions for things to turn out the way they did. It all happens because the detective is assigned to guard her because they're thrown together by a murder she witnessed. The murder victim is her very oldest and dearest friend. The murderer marks her for death so that she won't testify against him and in so doing, the murderer needs to threaten the lives of the detective's family (his wife and son) so he can get to the socialite. A lot of suspense follows and hearts are broken in the end. This movie has everything and most of all it's very real. The acting was excellent as well as the storyline.Movie Review: one of the classiest thrillers ever made

class lifestyle, her beautiful apartment, classical music, she
is a very classy lady. I must say Mimi Rogers was perfect for
the part she is beautiful and carries herself so gracefully.
Tom Berenger is a blue collar detective. The two actors have
excellent chemistry. Tom Berenger is married. A romance begins
with Tom Berenger and Mimi Rogers. The killer is released on
a mistake which was made for his arrest. He is crazy and goes
after Mimi Rogers. This movie has a look about it like a 1940's
movie. The sets are amazing and the locations are breathtaking.
The movie is very suspenseful and the ending is excellent. This
is one of the best movies ever made in my opinion
Movie Review: One Movie I Never Tire of Seeing

I rented it once, loved it and bought the DVD, with remastered soundtrack. A fan of the film noir genre, I noticed the cliches, but didn't care one whit about them. The acting, the "feel" of NYC, the contrasts between the main characters, I love all of it. Tom Berenger is perfectly cast, as well as Mimi Rogers, a favorite of mine. A romantic at heart, every time I watch this movie, I envision, Part 2, and continue with the characters' lives: what if Mike's wife finally gave him the boot and Claire sent Mike an address from abroad? Can't help but love a film that makes me wonder, "what if?" at the end. I never want the movie to end. I also enjoy watching Claire and her classy wardrobe. This is a guilty pleasure for me, as is "Flashdance." However, it is far superior to "Flashdance." "Someone" is a beautiful mood film from Ridley Scott. IT DOESN'T TAKE A ROCKET SCIENTIST TO FIGURE THIS OUT.
