Movie Reviews of Some Like It Hot

Movie Review: 'Some Like It Hot' : Dizzy Delight
Summary: 5 Stars

'Some Like It Hot' is hilarious. It is a movie I saw in the theater when it first came out. It was funny then; it is funnier now. My sister and I watched the movie together and laughed out loud all the way through. We had both forgotten how the movie began and how it ended. It has, as indicated, been a long time! The movie begins with THE shoot-out in Chicago where two musicians get an eyeful of the exits of gangland's worst. The musicians (guys, of course) make their escape from Chicago by going under cover with an all-girl band headed for Miami. Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis were in their youthful heydays, both falling for Marilyn Monroe's character, "Sugar". Watch it and have fun. It's in black and white for those who prefer their "drama" that way.

Movie Review: actually more than 12 but dont have an account
Summary: 5 Stars

this is one of my favorite movies. its so funny and though i'm young, i have seen a lot of good movies and i still think this is one of the best. marilyn monroe at her best. because of this movie, i've become a big fan of hers. great movie, and check out the soundtrack, too. great 20's music. fall in love with tony curtis and laugh with jack lemmon and sympathyze with sugar kane's (m.m.)fuzzy-end-of-the-lollypop-life-story. "a herring? oh! ... isnt it amazing how they get those big fish into those tiny little jars?" "they shrink when they're marinated." HAHAHAH. very funny. maybe it isnt as you read this, but ya gotta love tony's accent here. its so funny. i swear i've memorized this movie. watch it, buy it, live it.

Movie Review: One of the Best Comedies Ever Made.
Summary: 5 Stars

Actually, strike that title comment. Some Like It Hot has to be one of
the best movies of any genre in cinema ever made, as it succeeds on so
many different levels. The plot and script are witty and sharp, the
characters are easy to identify with and hilarious, the acting is a
masterclass in comedy and the laughs are constant throughout. Without a
doubt this is one of my favourite films, and contains one of the best
closing lines ever. After a movie full of two guys in drag, a sweet
girl singing, and a bunch of gangsters pursuing them, what else is
there to say except that "Nobody's perfect!" A comedy masterpiece which has never been bettered.

Movie Review: "Hot and Bothered"
Summary: 5 Stars

One of the funniest movies ever made. To see Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis in drag is in itself, sweet, but the whole story is side-splitting. Jack's and Tony's characters must dress as women and join a girls' band to escape being massacred by mobsters. Marilyn is one of the band members and immediately starts getting very chummy with them, explaining all kinds of personal information under the category of "girl talk." These two men are drooling over her and she is none the wiser. Then a wealthy elderly man (Joe E Brown) falls in love with one of the "girls" and his attempts to seduce "her" is hilarious. You must re-view this film every few years to have a "complete life."

Movie Review: Funny, classic
Summary: 5 Stars

Some Like It Hot is one of the funniest movies ever made. Directed by the peerless Billy Wilder it features Jack Lemmon in his comedic best, dashing young Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe as sexy as she'd ever get. It has everything, the mob, cross dressing, chase scenes, love, glamorous Hollywood stars and the best last line in movie history. The most important feature of the movie is however the script. It is witty, tongue-in-cheek, smart. It makes you wish there were more more scripts like that. People commenting on this movie seem to feel obligated to mention how difficult Marilyn was on the set. Who cares? The girl had problems. The film is perfect.
