Movie Review: brilliant
Summary: 5 Stars
This film is just that..flat out brilliant.It sheds light on a complex and thought provoking subject in an unexpected way. Once you've seen this complex film it will linger in your mind for a long long time.The two leads and the project were deservedly nominated for the Golden Globe awards recently.Regrettably and more than likely because of the subject matter they did not win but should have.Real excellence is rarely rewarded in Hollywood since most of the big awards are in reality little more than popularity contests.
For any intelligent film buff this film is an absolute must see.

I rented this DVD and couldn't stop watching it. I think most people will miss the point of this movie...and that is the power of love. I don't think it has anything to do with gay or straight...just love between two people. I think Barry saw so much in Calpernia as a beautiful person, that he just wanted to share in that. The music selected for this movie was injected in the scenes so subtlely and yet so purposefully. I will have Annie Lennox's "Cold" running through my mind forever.
The actors in this movie were superb! This movie will haunt me for a long time.
Movie Review: One of the Best of 2003

I first saw this film on Showtime. I am particularly interested iin watching anything with Tony Garity because he did so well in
BANDITS. I certainly wasn't disappointed with his portrayal of
this soldier who accepts the transgendered male as the woman she
experiences herself to be. Garity loses himself in this role and
as a result makes the love that develops between the two believable.
The reason I recommend this film is that the subject matter is
treated with great sensitivity, both in acting and dialogue.

Simply one of the most heartbreaking storys to hit the Transgendered world. Everyone who played in this movie was absolutly brilliant with their roles. You could sense that the actors actually felt in their hearts as if they themselves lived the lives of their character. The interviews are as interesting as the movie. Calpernia Adams is the one of my most admired women on the planet. Her strengths and support to both men and women brings out the passion of her incredable journey in making this world a better place.Movie Review: EXCELLENT TRUE STORY

I watched this movie on TV and all I can was I felt soooo sorry for Barry(Troy) for loving someone completely different. I think his roommate(gotta love Shawn)was gay but just repressed it soo much, he took it out on Barry instead and there are some people like that in this world we live in today. I am also assuming that nothing was really done with this case except the usual imprisonment and all that stuff. I liked it and was actually moved by the story and the actors as well. Must see
