Movie Reviews of Snow DogsMovie Review: A good Family Movie. Summary: 4 Stars
This is a Disney flick, complete with improbable "dangerous" situations and an unlikely happy ending. Cube Gooding, Jr. plays a well-to-do Miami dentist who discovers that he's adopted and that his biological mother has died and left him her estate. The hitch is that it is in Alaska! He travels there more to discover the missing part of himself rather than any largesse. He learns about his mother's dog sled team and eventually learns who his father is (Coburn). There are a series of humorous antics and situations and finally, everyone turns out for the better. Gooding is an excellent actor and it looks like he enjoyed making this film. He puts his considerable talents to the role and you can tell it. Coburn is good a the crumudgeon father and the supporting cast is good. Everyone will enjoy watching this film. And you don't need children, just the child inside of us all.
Movie Review: Good Movie Summary: 4 Stars
Snow Dogs wasn't as great as I thought it would be, but it was still a pretty good movie. It's about Dr. Ted Brooks(Cuba Gooding Jr.), a dentist from Miami, Florida who finds out that he was adopted after his mother confessed. His real parents lived in a small town called Tolketna, Alaska. When Teddy came to Tolketna, he finds out that his mother died and his father was white. He would also meet several Siberian huskies who would help him and his father finish the Arctic Challenge. Cuba Gooding Jr.(Pearl Harbor, Rat Race), James Coburn(Monsters Inc.), and Brian Levant(Beethovan, The Flintstones) are a few of the many cast & directors of this good movie. Snow Dogs is a great and hilarious movie that the whole entire family can enjoy.
Movie Review: great for kindergartners Summary: 4 Stars
My 5 year old daughter cannot stop talking about this movie. I have never seen her so engrossed in a plotline: she laughed out loud every time Ted (Cuba) fell on the ice or when he was chased by Demon, the dog. She cheered, "Go Nana!" during the rescue. She gripped the armrest on the couch white-knuckled when the sled went over the cliff. She nows say that her favorite state is Alaska and wants to know when we can go there. Last night we had company, and she insisted on reenacting an entire scene from the movie for our friend. This is a GREAT kid movie, and the joy it brings your kid is entirely infectious. My daughter's crossing her fingers for a sequel and begging Santa for her own copy of this film.
Movie Review: It will bring on a smile! Summary: 4 Stars
Can you smile for 99 minutes? Snow Dogs (PG) staring Cuba Gooding and his team of dogs will help make sure you do. Cuba's smile and all those dogs are infectious. Ted, (Gooding) a dentist from Miami finds out he is adopted. Nothing unusually about that, except his dad is James Coburn and he was born in Alaska. Ted travels to Alaska to settle his biological mother's estate and falls in love with a pretty local girl and of course those dogs! The rest is very predictable. If you're looking for a fun movie for the family, a film that will make you smile and laugh, Snow Dogs is a very good choice. Cuba is magnetic and funny; oh ya did I mention those dogs! They are cute. Amazon ASIN: B00005JKVU
Movie Review: Good movie but Disney Please give us widesreen!!! Summary: 4 Stars
Oh, No...Well it was bound to happen, for those of us who love widescreen, the marvellous market research folks at buena vista decided that families prefer full frame, so naturally they decided to release a movie full of sweeping vistas, wonderfull photography and a film that just aches to be shown widescreen in all its cinematic glory in....... 'full frame!'. Go figure! Trust the suits to ruin everything again!! And just when disney looked as if it was using dvd to its full advantage. They've released both full and widescreen versions in the past, but apparantly not this time. And I really wanted to give this movie a close five stars, because the movie itself is a lot of fun!!
